Epilogue
Tina tilted her head slightly, studying Bette’s face, the faint bruising along her cheekbone, the raw healing skin near her jaw. “Does it hurt?” she asked, her voice soft.
“No,” Bette lied softly, with a weak smile that dissolved almost immediately. Her hands hovered, unsure where to rest, until Tina took them and brought them to her waist, placing them just above the open edge of the sarong.
Tina’s skin was warm. Solid. Real.
“You don’t have to explain anything,” Tina said finally.
Bette blinked, surprised. “But I want to.”
“I know,” Tina said, her voice steady, her gaze softening. She leaned in just enough to brush her lips over the corner of Bette’s mouth, feather-light. “But I also know you, Bette. I know your heart. Whatever happened, it doesn’t change that.” She pulled back slightly, her hand brushing Bette’s cheek gently. “I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
Bette exhaled through her nose, her hands tightening slightly at Tina’s waist, fingers brushing the faint dip of muscle beneath her skin. “I didn’t want it,” she said quietly. “It wasn’t even… it wasn’t even a kiss. It was confusion and adrenaline and I…”
Tina silenced her with a kiss. Not urgent or demanding, just present. Anchoring. She pulled back an inch, her voice almost a murmur. “I know.”
“You’re not angry?”
“I was scared,” Tina said. “Scared I wouldn’t see you again. That I’d never get this back. That you’d go and die in that place or run away with her, and I’d never get to tell you how much you still mean to me.” She leaned in again, resting her forehead briefly against Bette’s temple. “But no. I’m not angry.”
Bette’s voice cracked. “Then what are you doing?”
Tina straightened, her knees on either side of Bette now, hands framing her face.
“Claiming back what’s mine.”
Bette’s breath caught. The words rolled through her like heat.
Tina kissed her again, deeper now, the softness edged with something fierce and aching. Bette kissed her back, the fire in her chest no longer fear or grief but longing.
Her hand slid up Tina’s back, feeling the smooth, flexed line of her spine, roaming back down over the swell of her backside and down the curve of her legs.

Wow, what a ride…. While am greatly saddened to read that this is the last ever instalment of this saga am also endlessly grateful for this story. I am greedy like that you see and like someone else said on this board I could go on reading this story forever.
I’ve read a lot of Tibette fanfic over the years and this is way way at the top of the list of the very best. It’s not only the love story which am ALWAYS there for it’s the exquisite writing and the description of this unique universe that makes you feel like you’re right there with them. So I want to thank you for sharing this I can only imagine how time consuming writing a story like this is. I am very grateful for all the time and work that obviously went into it.
PS: I will be secretly hoping that you get inspired and write an epilogue to the epilogue…. Or who knows a 57 part followup…. Savannah the reconstruction? Am here for it lol
I couldn’t agree more! Thank you for this wonderful AU adventure – from the first moments with Bette and Augustine and Tina arriving at Helena’s resort to the last Tibette-moment in this epilogue. Your writing is outstanding. With every installment you brought the beauty of Kenya with its nature, wildlife, people and culture closer to me.
It has everything: a great, elaborate, gripping plot, interesting supporting characters and lots of Tina & Bette romance.
For me your stories – Savannah especially – are the ones I always go back to when I need a good Bette & Tina fanfic fix. I’m sad to see this series end but on the other hand: congratulation to you for putting an end to it! For me as a ff writer way back when it was the hardest part to finish a story, to decide that I have nothing more to tell.
Like BTA I’m hoping that you’ll find the inspiration and the time to post an afterthought. Or finish any Tibette story you might store on your harddrive.
Thanks again, Kins, for sharing your work with us.
This story was great just like the others!!! Glad it all ended well, sad to see the end. Hoping you continue to write more tibette stories.
You are an incredibly talented writer! Thank you for this amazing saga! I love your every work, each of them is written so beautifully. Please never stop writing, I’ll be happy to read your new stories ❤️
Never thought I’d be reading more of these Savannah ladies, it was a wonderful surprise and a beautifully crafted journey. Thank you.
