Art, the gallery owner makes opening remarks. ”Ladies and gentlemen welcome to CaramelART Gallery and thank you for joining us this evening. It is our honor to be the first gallery to show Ms. Ostin’s work on the west coast and we feel privileged to do so. Heart of Glass is a fabulous collection of glass sculptures. When you experience the intrinsic beauty and realize how much time and dedication went into creating each of these unique pieces you will understand our excitement. Before we introduce Ms. Ostin we have a special guest that would like to say a few words. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome Ms. Bette Porter. Many of you know Ms. Porter by reputation as she’s a legend in the art world. Currently she holds the position of Dean, for the School of Arts at California University in Los Angeles.

After graciously receiving the recognition and applause Bette begins to speak. “Thank you Arthur. Ladies and gentlemen tonight for the first time on the west coast you have the privilege of sharing an experience in sculpted art. The first time I was introduced to Leigh Ostin’s work in glass sculptures I was in awe of its unique and exquisite beauty. I knew that this young artist had a special gift that had to be shared and we are thrilled to be able to so with you tonight. It’s been a privilege to have her as our Artist in Residence and Art Professor at California University and an even greater gift to count her as a family friend. It is my honor to introduce Ms. Leigh Ostin.”

Once again there is applause, as Bette sits down and Leigh comes forward. “Thank you Arthur, thank you Bette, and thank you ladies and gentlemen. The honor and the privilege is all mine. I appreciate the opportunity you have given me to show my work. I have been very blessed to have people in my life that believe in me, without whom I wouldn’t be here. You know Art and Bette but I also want to introduce my business manager Mr. James Bolen and his lovely wife Lisa who designed all the material in the media packages that you have received tonight. Also my gratitude and appreciation for our curator Ms. Rosie Harkin who has done a tremendous job with the selection and display of the pieces that are being shown in this exhibit.”
