    Three weeks later and Tina was still struggling with why she had thought she would only see Bette occasionally. The brunette was on site on a practically permanent basis; her brown locks peering over her shoulder, when Tina was studying plans and was dishing out orders to workmen; when she was stuck on a particular detail and needed to discuss it further with her foreman, Bette always popped out from nowhere adding her suggestions on the way forward. Apparently the financier had nothing else to do or nowhere else to be and this situation was starting to wear heavily on Tina’s patience.

    Bette was unrelenting and always at her side. How was Tina supposed to keep her distance and remain indifferent to the woman if she was always there? Her attempts at keeping their relationship on a purely platonic level and strictly professional were proving harder and harder to maintain and Tina feared her emotions would betray her at any moment. The blonde had got to a point where she could feel Bette’s presence even before the brunette appeared. And because Bette never informed her ahead of time that she may visit the site, Tina was in a constant state of nerves waiting for the beautiful woman to appear.

    One day, as the decorator was studying the layout of a bedroom, furniture and colour scheme, she lifted her gaze to find herself face to face with the brunette.

    “Have you truly nowhere else to be?” she asked with annoyance.

    “I have.” Bette replied with nonchalance before propping herself against a nearby window sill. As per usual when she visited the site, Bette wore a worn pair of jeans tucked neatly into thick woollen sock which topped a pair of steel toed tanned workmen’s boots. Her top was an equally worn denim shirt left untucked and open to reveal a long sleeve grey undershirt. She was striking even when she dressed so casually. Everything accentuated her lithe frame, flat stomach and impossibly long legs.

    “You are always under my feet!” Tina exclaimed. “Why won’t you leave me to work in peace?”

    “I wasn’t aware, I was in the way.” Bette replied raising an eyebrow in surprise.

    Tina sighed loudly. Bette wasn’t so much in the way as just… there. But Tina had to admit, the brunette had done just that. She had remained perfectly proper and had never attempted anything but be perfectly professional as had been Tina’s wish.

    15. Ok, here i am again like promised. It took me some time to reread this, but wow, i am so happy you are back with this amazing story!

      Tina is hopeless in love with Bette and to see her fighting against that and how you tell it, it is incredible. Bette is making it difficult also by respecting her wishes, but after that parting, i hope will make Tina reconsider to not follow her heart.
