    “I asked you where you were going.” Bette repeated insistently. “I’m going out!” Tina replied turning on the spot to face Bette trying her best to ignore the persistent tone. “Well… Cancel your plans!” Bette pinned the blonde against her car door, an arm on each side of the decorator. “What? I made those plans

    “I’m going out!” Tina replied turning on the spot to face Bette trying her best to ignore the persistent tone.

    “Well… Cancel your plans!” Bette pinned the blonde against her car door, an arm on each side of the decorator.

    “What? I made those plans weeks ago! Besides I haven’t been away from here in … for ever.”

    “I’m really sorry.” Bette smirked her voice devoid of any of genuine hint of regret.

    “You cannot dictate what I do in my free time!” Tina defended.

    “I have no intention of doing anything of the sort, but I’m out on business until next Thursday and your foreman has some questions about the conservatory. You and I need to discuss this.”

    “Can it not wait?” Tina asked anxiously, seeing her planned evening at the theatre with her friends disappearing fast. Now that she had all but stop seeing any of her former acquaintances, all that remains were a handful of true friends with whom she had made firm plans tonight. She wanted so much to prove to her father that she could have a fulfilling social life as well as work hard.

    “How long is that going to take? She asked. Bette smiled pushing away from the side of the car to let Tina in the driver’s seat.

    “No more than an hour. Join me at the Rose And Crown pub in Hampstead. We’ll be able to discuss it all over dinner.”

    Once at the wheel, Tina looked decidedly in front of her. She hoped Bette would not notice her sudden bout of anxiety.

    Dinner.

    Pub.

    Tonight was going be the first time since she left the chalet that she was going to find herself alone with the financier and she wouldn’t have the reassuring presence of workmen or their foreman either. She bit her lip looking for a reason to decline the invitation but try as she may she couldn’t come up with anything. Feeling the insisting gaze from the brunette who had remained expectantly on the pavement outside, Tina, despite herself, accepted the invitation before zooming away from the parking spot.

    An hour and a half later, Tina was getting ready to leave her father’s house. She wore a little make up, something she had thought as she had been applying it, she hadn’t done in a long while; since, as a matter of fact, she had started work on Bette’s house.

    15. Ok, here i am again like promised. It took me some time to reread this, but wow, i am so happy you are back with this amazing story!

      Tina is hopeless in love with Bette and to see her fighting against that and how you tell it, it is incredible. Bette is making it difficult also by respecting her wishes, but after that parting, i hope will make Tina reconsider to not follow her heart.
