I Need My Best Friend – Part 15
Tina continued to kiss her and slowly began to unbutton Bette’s blouse, kissing the newly exposed skin. She had always loved Bette’s choice of lingerie and today was no different. As she undid the next button, exposing her bra she moaned, bringing Bette back to the reality of the moment.
‘Tina, please?’
‘It’s all right Bette.’
‘No Tina we can’t.’
‘Why?’
‘I thought we both agreed we still had things to work through and that we weren’t ready.’
‘Can’t a girl change her mind?’
‘Have you?’
Frustrated Tina sat up, knowing Bette was referring to reconciling, and said much too harshly, ‘what’s with you Bette?’
As she buttoned her blouse, ‘I guess I’m just confused.’
Tina got up and refilled her wine glass.
‘Yeah, I think that’s what got us in this mess to begin with, your confusion.’
‘Tina I don’t want to fight with you. If this is what you wanted out of this weekend don’t you think we should have talked about it?’
‘Oh now you want to talk about things.’
‘I’m sorry. I guess we had different hopes about this weekend. It’s late, we should get some sleep and if you want we can leave in the morning. I’ll stay in the other room just give me a minute to move my things. I’m sorry T.’
Tina sat on the arm of the chair and watched Bette walk away. In a few moments she heard the door to the other bedroom close.
‘Smooth Kennard, real smooth.’
* * * * *
By the time she moved her things to the other room and closed the door it was all she could do to make it to the bed she was shaking so much.
What the ***** was that? She’s so quiet one minute I don’t know what to think and the next she’s undressing me. I need some air.
She opened the door out to the deck and sat on one of the lounges. She replayed every moment since they kissed last night trying to find something, anything that would explain how this had happened.
When Tina knocked on the bedroom door and got no answer she slowly opened it thinking Bette had fallen asleep. She saw the door open and went out on the deck. She walked around the chair and noticed the tears streaming down Bette’s cheeks. She sat on the foot of the lounge and took Bette’s hand and kissed her palm.

Well they certainly are in two different places. I hope you find away to get them walking on the same path. I really enjoyed this asalways. Thanks!
(grins) that was sweet and flirtatious. LOL.. yeah.. flirting and sweet usually doesn’t go together in one sentence.. but there they are…
wow – well they need to enjoy each other but they really need to keep on talking — not even about the past but how they are feeling right now — please, keep them talking because it is the assumptions that are adding to the fears – great chapter — loving this story
Communication is the key. That was excellent, keep it coming!
Oh boy, they have a long rough road ahead of them.Tina should let go some of her fears and enjoy their time together.Thank you for the new chapter, asalways.
Great, more really soonnnnnn
This feels realistic in terms of couples trying to work things out. Well done! More please!
Very nice chapter. They do have a lot to work out but I trust they will be able to do that.
Beautiful! I love the way you have them ease into things. you are so kind and gentle with their feelings and thoughts. I am looking forward to the next.
I am so happy they are getting rid of all of the hidden agendas. I sure hope they can work through this. I enjoy this story so much. Thank you for another installment.
So glad to see them talking–God knows they have enough to work through! I love the way you show us both perspectives. Thanks so much for this update.

Good to seen another excellent chapter up. Good to see that Tina finally asked the question that she should of asked before leaving. I’ll be waiting for the next one. Thanks.
more, more, more…pleeeeeease ;)
I wonder how they’ll be able to arrive at THE decision by Monday when they clearly not honestly communicating now. Hopefully, these two ladies can salvage the rest of the weekend come Sunday. Good work, asalways.
Hi, I just want to add that I enjoy every bit of the story and that it leave me very ‘drained’ as well coz I feel for both Bette n Tina – in fact, I cried in one of the chapters. Keep up the good work. You write beautifully – the one request I have – pls have a good ending – let Bette ‘alive’ again and Tina to ‘live’ – you know what I mean
