I Will Not Let You Fall

By then Bette’s hand was no longer on Tina’s thigh. The brunette was staring blankly at the mute TV, waiting for Tina to speak.

But the blonde had no intention to hurry up. She made herself more comfortable with her side against Bette’s upper body and smiled contentedly. She reached for the dark curls and began rolling some around her fingers while watching Bette’s stately profile. ”Hey,” she uttered in a soft voice, trying to attract Bette’s attention to herself.

The brunette was having none of it. ”So, what’s up?” she inquired, turning her emotionless gaze to Tina.

”About?” the blonde tilted her head.

Bette scowled a bit. ”I just heard you talking to Alice, about Helena. So I’m asking what’s up with that.”

”Oh,” Tina uttered, averting her gaze. ”Alice is upset about Helena’s call, and I was trying to provide some support.”

”I thought that you were trying too hard, like it was any of your business,” Bette claimed.

”I’m just a little upset about it too. Helena shows up after being God knows where for almost two weeks and acts like nothing happened. This is pathetic and I’m just feeling sorry for my friend.”

”I didn’t like the way you were talking about Helena. You sounded almost bitter.”

”Tsk,” the blonde emitted in exasperation, heaving a sigh. ”Bette, you’re being out of line with your suspiciousness. I thought we’re past that.”

”Turns out we aren’t,” Bette answered with venom.

”Jesus, are we really going to have this fight?!” Tina asked indignantly.

Bette sat up and disentangled herself from Tina’s legs. ”I’m going to bed,” she said evenly before getting to her feet and moving toward the bedroom.

Annoyed and confused, Tina pushed herself off the sofa and followed her girlfriend, determined to talk this case out with her once and for all.

She found Bette sitting on the bed with her head bent over her phone. The blonde took a breath and sat down beside her.

”Baby, why don’t you trust me so much? How many times do I have to prove that you’re the only one for me?” Tina said softly. ”No one and nothing on earth would ever make me leave you.”

After a moment of silence Bette spoke, ”It’s not you who I don’t trust.”

    1. I don’t trust Helena at all, i think she is a traitor and will do anything in her power to damage Bette both in “work” and personal life. Shane better don’t let Tina from her eye sight.

Excellent update! Thank you for the update!

    2. Hi Valerie:

Very nice update; it looks like Bette is looking for a way out, with Tina, from her messy life, what intrigues me is, if she plans to run away out of the country with Tina, why is she buying the house? or perhaps she thinks Tina finally won’t go with her and Bette bought the house for Tina; however knowing how possessive and jealous and in love she is, she hardly will leave her girlfriend. I see that you have a character called Henry there, would it be some hetero drama? I hope not. This first part of your chapter 29 is wonderful, but I was wondering about the second part and the outcomes from Bette’s trip to Tijuana, I agree with Bibi, I don’t trust Helena; well, better to wait for your next post, which I’m eagerly expecting to solve some of my questions. Thanks for the story and pps.

      • Hi, proteonomics! I thought I could clarify some things for you before posting the next part. First, the house Bette’s bought is located in another country, where she’s planning to flee to with Tina. And second, no I’m not having any hetero drama with Henry in this story, Henry is simply Bette’s partner in crime, no more no less. :) Thank you for being interested! xoxo

    3. Oh my.
I do not know how Bette is going to get out of this, now she’s the boss of this gang. But
I think she already has plans to get out of this crime life because she would not buy a house just to give Tina, she wants to share it with Tina, and I know how hard it will be for Tina to make that choice.
