I won’t even say goodbye
A gather of no less than a dozen people took up the enormous long walnut wood table in the meeting room. More were either standing behind the chairs or guarding the entrances. Jorge looked at Vincent, who was purposefully placed in the background, and nodded at her with acknowledgement.
Bette understood, she had always been his secret weapon. It always gave him an advantage over his opponents for hiding her true value, even when the opponent was his in-law.
“So, brother, tell me about this new ‘speed dragon’, sounds like a real bargain.” Jacob chewed his medium rare fillet steak with a sip of Jorge’s finest Merlot.
Tina wasn’t particularly interested in the content of their conversation. It was hardly useful information considering the both of them were going down tonight. She was a bit nervous when Jacob threw some glances her way.
“Where is my sister by the way?” He asked, “and who is she?”
“Jodi is not feeling well tonight. That’s Kristen, my guy’s new girl.” Jorge explained, not wanting his in-low to mistaken him as a cheater.
Jacob seemed reassured. He hooked his forefinger to Tina, “come here pretty thing, we haven’t been introduced properly yet.”
Bette immediately shifted on her feet, but her movement was shut down by a glare from Jorge. She balled up her fists, using her stare to burn holes on Jacob’s ugly face.
“Come on, your boyfriend won’t mind, whoever he is.”
Tina had the urge to punch him in the throat, but she restrained herself. She glanced at the paling brunette to tell her that it was ok. As she walked around the table, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his laps. The alcohol and cigar in his breath were unpleasantly pungent when he leaned in.
Jorge spoke with caution, doing Vincent a favor, “oh brother, come on, she’s off the market. Company only.”
“I’ll take what I can get.” The other man snorted a laughter and shrugged. “Now let’s talk business. You got my money?”
“Even better,” Jorge snapped his fingers, Tito and Diego each presented a leather case they had been keeping, flashing a small portion of their transaction, “I got you samples, ten kilo ‘speed dragon’ for testing.”

hello my good friends, I am horrified to hear about Lipitora’s accident. It’s really really shocking and terrible. To never drive drunk and to always be careful crossing the road!
I would want to dedicate a chapter to her, but a better one, a happier one maybe. Keeping up my prayers.
As for the content in this chapter, I know, I know it’s depressing. The violence and drug abuse are probably not that easy to read. But it’s crucial to my story. So I tried to cram it all in one chapter. Consider this a transition.
Personally, I have struggled with a mild drug addiction several years ago because of a depression episode. It was not as bad though. But I know there are hundreds of thousands of people suffering from similar disorders or emotional trauma. Drug is never a solution, I promise you from experience.
I love you all and hope everyone is ok.
Peace
Robyn

Difficult, very difficult, to read and can’t help but be anxious.
Please make it better soon and dedicate it to our dear Lipitora.
