    A dream…and a coming out party.

    The two women held onto each other as tight as was physically possible, breathing in the other, not really sure of what to do next. Bette finally loosened her hold just enough to be able to lean back and look into Nicas eyes. What she saw there almost brought her to her knees. The light shining brilliant…the love shining strong…the joy shining without limit.

    Bette thought back to her conversations with Leslie and Kit, and still not knowing exactly why Nica was standing in front of her, she was determined to make the most of it…because somewhere in her
    subconscious, she knew this wouldnt last. Nica…Baby…there is something I want…I need to tell you.

    Nica reached up and stroked Bettes cheek with the back of her fingers, internally grateful for this small chance to see, to feel this woman one more time. She smiled at Bette. Ok…but can we say hello first?

    Without thinking Bette giggled. She leaned in, resting her forehead on Nicas. Some things never change, do they? Im still trying to jump three steps ahead… She stopped for a moment, then whispered, Hi sweetheart…I have missed you more than you will ever know.

    Nica smiled at Bettes words. I have miss you too. Im sorry for leaving you without saying goodbye.

    Oh Nica…it wasnt your fault. It was an accident. Are you Ok now…I mean, are you happy where you are? Nicas eyes were bright with happiness. Its incredible, Elizabeth! Dont worry about me…Ok?

    Bette could tell that Nica was telling the truth, and that where ever she was, there was endless amounts of love. Now, what did you want to tell me?

    Bette looked directly into Nicas eyes. I want you to know…to believe in your heart when I tell you that………Nica, I love you…that I was in love with you while we were together…that I will always love you. I was so happy to be with you .I know I didnt tell you often enough, but I need you to know just how much you meant to me…how much you still mean to me. She hesitated for just a second, and then continued on. I know that Tina was my first love…she was…is… Nica understood why Bette was struggling and gently placed her fingers on Bettes lips, silencing her.
