    A dream…and a coming out party.

    A huge wave of relief came over Bette when she realized Nica didnt want her to stop being with Tina. She knew that if Nica had wanted that, Bette would not have been able to comply with her request. She was still hesitant however, and hoped for an answer to her next question. Sweetheart, Tina told me something about reincarnation several months ago. She said that our souls split off, and we can have many different soul mates. Bette stood in front of Nica with a look of pleading in her eyes. Please tell me thats true. Please tell me that when I die I will get to see you, and be with you again. Bette looked down now, feeling selfish for having the thoughts that were racing through her mind. Is it horrible for me to want to spend my afterlife with both of you?

    Nica tightened her hold on Bette. No Baby…there is nothing wrong with that.

    Again Bette pleaded with Nica for an answer. Will I be able to be with you when I die?

    Nica just looked at Bette and smiled.

    Bette…baby… Bette felt confused again, hearing Tinas voice coming out of Nicas mouth. Bette…Baby youre squeezing me. Bette shook her head as she came out of her dream, and found that she was laying next to Tina, her arm wrapped around her waist, holding on as tight as possible. Baby, I cant breath.

    Bette looked around the room, frantic for a moment, then understanding where she was, she laid her head back on her pillow. She knew it was just a dream, but couldnt help the overwhelming sadness that flooded her body, realizing that once again Nica had been taken away from her, before they had a chance to say goodbye. She couldnt help the tears that were now very real, from falling into Tinas hair and down her neck.

    Concerned, Tina turned over. Baby, whats wrong?

    Bette didnt want to keep anything from Tina anymore, and just hoped that she would understand. She released a deep sigh. I just had the most vivid dream about Nica. God Tina…she was so real! I could touch her…smell her perfume… Bette burst into tears thinking about how much she missed the friendship of the only other person besides Tina she had ever wanted to spend her life with.
