    A dream…and a coming out party.

    All three kids, as well as Tina and Miliane showed both their appreciation for Bettes words, as well as the excitement they were all feeling about the night ahead of them. Lets go MaBe, Miliane said. Mike is downstairs with the car.

    As the one family that included four different last names, arrived at the gallery, they found it already teeming with activity. The caterers were there and were just finishing setting up all the food and drinks. The waitrons were milling around, waiting for the quests to start arriving. Dani looked in awe at how the gallery was decorated, loving the artwork adorning the walls. However, as she looked around the large main room, her eyes stopped at one wall that was free standing and off to the side. There was a large tarp-like canvas covering most of it. Puzzled, she started to walk towards the wall. Bette watched her and smiled. She took Tinas hand and motioned for her to follow along. As they reached the canvas, Dani turned, and still puzzled, looked at Bette. How come there is a canvas over this wall? Did something happen?

    Bette squeezed Tinas hand and then let go. She walked over to Dani and put her arm around her shoulder. Well Dani, actually…we are hoping to display the work of an up and coming artist. And tonight, with their permission, will be the premeire of their work.

    Danis excitement bubbled over, knowing they were going to be seeing a new artists work before anyone else. Cool!! Whos the artist…when are you taking the canvas off?

    Bette grinned, loving Danis enthusiasim. Well…I have to get the artists permission first, before I can display these in public tonight. But I wanted to put them upon the wall first, so they could see them through the eyes of the patrons. With that, Bette pulled the string on the canvas, and watched as it lifted up, exposing three beautiful paintings. Above the paintings in gold lettering were the words…The Art of Our Future…by Danielle Collins, age 13

    Dani gasped along with her siblings and her mother, and instinctively reached out with her arm and wrapped it around Bettes waist, while bringing her other hand up to her mouth. Oh my God!!! Those are my paintings!!!
