“I am – hot sex just gets me that way “
“And what does bad sex do ?”
“Usually drive me to candy bars and ice cream “ Tina laughed
“I’ll remember that “ Bette said dryly “ What would you like to drink ?”
“Wine would be nice “
“If you open the fridge there are a couple of bottles in there but if you don’t want either of those my wine is in that room through there – I warn you – its ice cold in there even during a heat wave in August “
“Whatever is in the fridge will do me “ Tina replied as Bette added some vegetables to the wok. Bette left the wok to cut some bread – it was nice to be cooking with someone. She looked at Tina who was regarding the two bottles of wine in her hand before picking the bottle that Bette would have picked as well – another gold star for the blonde Bette mused as she started to fill the bread basket with slices of fresh crusty bread.
“You got any butter ?” Tina asked seeing what Bette was doing
“Behind the low fat olive oil spread “ Bette replied
Tina retrieved it and taking a knife she buttered two tiny end pieces of the bread Bette was cutting up and pushed one into Bette’s mouth. Bette laughed and removed the slice
“Good idea “
“I am now seriously hungry “ Tina said eating her piece
“If you can hold on for five minutes “ Bette replied biting her piece of bread
“I will try but it will be a struggle “
Bette turned back to the wok and in five minutes she was putting the stir fry onto two huge dinner plates.
“You want to eat in the dining room or in the sitting room ?”
“Its your house “ Tina replied
“You are my guest “ Bette replied
“Make a decision “ Tina challenged
“Lets go back into the sitting room – there are some trays in here “
They were soon in the sitting room sitting together on the sofa eating their meals. The wine and bread basket was on the coffee table in front of them. Tina was enjoying this meal
“You were not wrong this morning when you said that you do cook well “
“Glad you like it “ Bette replied
“I have to admit that’s it is just delicious “
Bette smiled “Excellent “
“Any time you want to cook I am happy to be the helper and the taster “
“You have a deal – do you cook much ?”
“I guess I have got out of the habit of making things from scratch “
“It is hard when you are on your own and you get home from work and you are just shattered “
Tina nodded “Its not worth it when you finally get home closer to 8 “
Bette nodded “Easier to get a take away “
