    It was suicide Chapter 2

Angie nodded, a yawn creeped into her mouth making her open her jaw as she followed her mother with her eyes.  She put her tablet on the nightstand, reached over and turned out the light.

    That Weekend

Bette stood at the kitchen counter prepping coffee for Alice and herself. Alice was on her way to sort through boxes of pictures that Bette had stored away in the garage. Bette scooped up beans and poured them into the grinder. Shane’s 40th birthday was just around the corner and Alice came up with the crazy idea of a surprise party. Bette shook her head, how did she ever get herself roped into this idea. Bette scooped some additional beans into the grinder. Shane hates surprises more than she hates birthdays. Gonna need the extra caffeine this morning, it is going to be a long day, she thought.

An hour later Bette and Alice sat at Bette’s dining table sorting through a box of pictures.

”Wow, when did you take all these pictures?” Alice inquired looking over at Bette.

”I don’t know, back then I always had my camera with me. And well Tina, liked to take pictures too.”

Alice started laughing, ”Do you remember this?” Alice handed Bette a picture of Bette and Tina holding each other on the deck of a boat.

”I’m not sure. Wasn’t that Shane’s party?” Bette tilted her head.

”Yes, that was the party after we did the boring intervention with you and Tina.” Alice smiled. ”Remember that questionnaire? And…” Alice started to laugh, ”Tina’s fuzzy slippers.”

Bette looked once again at the picture before she handed it back to Alice. ”Yeah, she loved those slippers,” giving a sad smile.

Alice saw Bette’s reaction and put the picture back in the box and continued sorting. ”I can’t believe Shane bought that bar. I thought she was done dealing with a sole proprietorship. I mean, she sold all her hair salons, banked the money and now she can live the good life with little stress.”

”I don’t know what to tell you. I was just as surprised.” Bette paused. ”How many pictures do you think we will need?”

    1. The appropriate way to respond to Lez Girls is the same way she and Tina responded in the original TLW. Announce publicly (and only when asked) that the book is a work of fiction and any resemblance to any living person is purely coincidental. The characters in the book are fabrications of the authors mind. And the movie was based on the book and added its own interpretation of the characters to produce a marketable product. After all in the movie ends when the heroine of the story leaves her lesbian lover and goes back to her ex boyfriend and they live happily ever after. Does anyone know anyone in which this would be a reflection of their life?

    2. Hi SuperK. I love how you are taking this story bit by bit and elaborating on what was not revealed in the episodes on GenQ.

As for the technical part you might want to post your story as a book and add chapters within the same book so it’s all together. The way you are doing now is posting each chapter as a stand-alone. Jacky can probably help you with how to do that. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for taking this on. I’m working on a similar story to try to fill in the blanks of the past 10 years so I may stay away from yours for a bit until I have mine done. It will be interesting to see the different ideas of how they came apart, and how Bette and Angie ended up back in Los Angeles separated from Tina.

      • Thanks for the tip. I was having trouble figuring out the system but I think I got it now. BTW I am a big fan of your writing. I look forward to seeing what you come up with regarding those missing horrific 10 years that lead to Kit’s death and Tina and Bette’s divorce.
