    It was suicide Chapter 2

Alice looked up and smiled, ”I don’t know maybe 20 or 30.  We can put them on a continuous loop on the big screen.”  Alice paused, ”I am going to include some with Dana,” Alice sat for a long moment, a far away look came across her face.  ”Ya know I still think about Dana sometimes, I miss her.  She was so young.  I mean, Cancer really sucks!”

Bette watched Alice.  It had been over 13 years since they had lost one of their closest friend, Dana Fairbanks, to Breast Cancer.  Alice took it the hardest and still went to her grave every year on Dana’s birthday to place flowers.  ”I miss her too, and I think that is a great idea.” A rise smile came across Bette’s face.

”What do you think about including a few with Tina?” Alice asked tentatively.

Bette looked at Alice with a look that only came across Bette’s face when Tina’s named was mentioned.  ”I guess, whatever you want.  She is in a lot of pictures.  I mean, she was… is… part of the family.”

Alice looked at Bette, ”Have you spoken to her lately?  I mean, I know you talk to her about Angie.”

”Yeah, I spoke to her a few days ago about changing Angie’s school.  After what happened, Angie doesn’t want to go back.”

”I don’t blame her.  I remember those schools.  Those rich privileged kids.  All snooty, thinking they can get away with anything because of their parents.  I was so glad when Lenore decided that I could go to a regular public school.  It was so much better.”  Alice paused, ”Where are you thinking of sending Angie?”

”We were going to send her to another private school, but Angie wants to go to a public school.  I think because Jordi goes to one of the more prestigious public schools.”  Bette paused, ”Dani and Pierce think I should allow it to get the Teacher’s Union endorsement, but I hate the idea of using Angie to get support.  It just doesn’t feel right and I am not ok about gambling with Angie’s future for a few votes.”

    ”What did Tina say?”

Bette sighed, ”She said that the school Angie likes is just as good as the private school.  If anything maybe better because it is more diverse.  And… she has always said I was a bit elitist when it came to Angie’s education, that there was more to education than just the academics.  We have been having this debate ever since Angie’s preschool.”

Alice smiled, ”Yeah, I remember the whole exposure to Art thing.”

Bette gave her a hard look, ”The Arts are important, look at her now.  She wants to be an artist.  I’m already looking into camps for her over next summer to really explore her talent.”

Alice laughs lifting her hands in defense, ”Hey, I’m just looking out for my Earth Child.”

Bette smiled, ”By the way,” she paused looking directly into Alice’s eyes, ”I want to thank you again for putting me on your show at the last minute.” She hesitated,  ”I mean… it worked out pretty good.  Pierce and Dani both agree it polled really well.”

”Hey, I always got your back.  We’re family, that’s what we do.  So, how is Dani working out.  Sophie wasn’t to happy about the abrupt change in Dani’s job.” Alice paused grabbing another stack of pictures. ”I was kinda surprised too.  Dani’s pretty close to her father, at least that is what Sophie had said.”

”She is very talented for sure.  We’re just getting started, so I really can’t give a clear opinion yet, but so far so good.” Bette handed a picture of Alice, Shane and Dana to her with a smile, ”Pierce was right, this whole Felicity think needed a special person to manage it.”

    ”Well that whole situation….”

    ”I know…”

”Ya know if you need to get laid, I know people.”  She smiled.

”Thanks,” Bette smiled, ”But I think I am ok.”

Both women laughed together as only people who have known each other for decades can.

    1. The appropriate way to respond to Lez Girls is the same way she and Tina responded in the original TLW. Announce publicly (and only when asked) that the book is a work of fiction and any resemblance to any living person is purely coincidental. The characters in the book are fabrications of the authors mind. And the movie was based on the book and added its own interpretation of the characters to produce a marketable product. After all in the movie ends when the heroine of the story leaves her lesbian lover and goes back to her ex boyfriend and they live happily ever after. Does anyone know anyone in which this would be a reflection of their life?

    2. Hi SuperK. I love how you are taking this story bit by bit and elaborating on what was not revealed in the episodes on GenQ.

As for the technical part you might want to post your story as a book and add chapters within the same book so it’s all together. The way you are doing now is posting each chapter as a stand-alone. Jacky can probably help you with how to do that. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for taking this on. I’m working on a similar story to try to fill in the blanks of the past 10 years so I may stay away from yours for a bit until I have mine done. It will be interesting to see the different ideas of how they came apart, and how Bette and Angie ended up back in Los Angeles separated from Tina.

      • Thanks for the tip. I was having trouble figuring out the system but I think I got it now. BTW I am a big fan of your writing. I look forward to seeing what you come up with regarding those missing horrific 10 years that lead to Kit’s death and Tina and Bette’s divorce.
