    Je t’aime (part 2 of 3)

As their plates were cleared away Bette declared she couldn’t manage anything else, but Tina’s eyes were roaming about the restaurant, settled on another couple who’s heads were bent together, sharing a delicate, wobbling, crème caramel,

“You want one?” Bette asked, seeing her drooling over it,

Tina smiled and sat back, “Only if you share it with me?”

    Bette chuckled, “Okay,”

Their eyes began that familiar dance, the heat within the restaurant rising, both of them waiting, enjoying the slow build as they shared their meal but both subtly pressing forwards, eager to know what was still to come,

Tina mumbled appreciatively, as Bette fed her spoonfuls of their shared dessert, her favourite, and as the plate was cleared and the champagne upturned inside the cooler, the last drop gone they paid the bill and left, exiting out into the cool night air as Paris continued to buzz all around,

“Brrrr … it’s chilly,” Bette commented, feeling the cool breeze as it swirled up between the tall inner city buildings,

Tina stepped closer, slipping her arm inside Bette’s coat as they walked the short way back to the hotel, since it was no longer raining,

“I like walking with you,” said Tina, their pace in step,

Bette turned to kiss her softly on the forehead, “You do?”

Tina nodded, leaning her head against Bette’s shoulder with a gentle sigh as they ambled back, a million miles away from where they started their trip as two ex lovers who were sneaking around, parting ways to take some time and contemplate seriously what it was they were doing. Instead they found themselves together again, no more hiding or denying, they were where they both wanted to be, side by side and forging ahead together,

“Let’s go back …” Bette muttered, as they strolled across the front of cafés and pubs,

    Tina nodded, not complaining,

    ~

She stood behind Bette as she searched her bag for the door fob, made harder by the fact Tina’s arms were around her waist, running sensuously across her hip bones and the sensitive skin overlying her pelvis, making her groan with intensifying heat,

Champagne whirled inside Tina’s head, loosening her inhibitions, not that being uptight was a problem of late. Bette made her feel open and secure and from behind, Bette’s ass in that pantsuit made her think thoughts she’d not known for a while,

    1. They have to work to be together. This can go on for a long time but sooner or later the world will find out what we know already, there is no other love like Tibette love.

    2. Incroyable!! You struck the right tone of their relationship and love. Not taking each other for granted but totally appreciative of what they have in each other. And not willing to lose it again. Just wonderful!! PPS.

    3. Babe, I think I love your conclusion most of all. Though there are so many parts of the story that I could point to as being just so lovely…your descriptions of those daily daily experiences, that human experience of being so in every moment (which is something I admire in you as a person and as a writer)…the way you weave the characters together through power imbalances and miscommunication to come to a place of harmony (which lets face it, is a natural place for us to live as much as it is ideal)…your ending really gets me, how when it comes to Bette, Tina’s sadness can live alongside being elated. Lovely work baby, and I promise always to inspire as much blushing as possible in you…not for its own sake, and not only because you’re so cute while blushing, but because you deserve every blush-worthy word and compliment I can give you;) xo

    4. “They weren’t that innocent loved up couple whose hands never parted, whose fingers and mouths kissed and touched long on into the night. Instead they were a family, and for Tina that was bigger, grander, and more touching than any stereotypical bunch of flowers.

    5. I’m breathless. That story was absolutely exquisite. I felt as though I was watching the two find what had been lost while exploring all that was new between and within them. Sofa, this is one of your best ever. So many wonderful parts — Bette falling asleep after her flight in Tina’s arms, the shared shower, Tina buying a new suit for Bette, Tina telling Bette she loved her in French… So much beauty and romance. Ahh…C’est Magnifique!
