    We both lit the match that burned the bridge down.. part one..

     

    Me too, Bette grinned in agreement. “Why’s that?” She played dumb.

     

    Tina had to smile, seeing right through her girlfriend’s attempt to draw out a well-deserved compliment from her. Lucky for Bette, she was feeling mighty truthful tonight. “You’re my sedative and I can’t sleep without my sleeping pill.” She sighed.

     

    “So you’re addicted to sleeping pills now?” Bette chuckled softly, teasing the blonde.

     

    “No.” Tina shook her head. “Just you.” She mumbled as she cuddled closer to Bette. She buried her nose into Bette’s hair and inhaled deeply. “Your smell makes me sleepy.” She yawned to prove her statement.

     

    “And you tell me that important info just now.” Bette rolled her eyes, placing a gentle kiss on Tina’s forehead. “That tiny fact could put a damper on our sex life, you know.” She pointed out, a little worried.

     

    “Nah, I doubt it.” Tina laughed softly, dismissing Bette’s claim with ease. “I’m just saying that your scent relaxes me.” She sighed contentedly. The wonderful cherry blossom fragrance of lotion intermingling with that particularly sweet scent that was innately Bette Porter? Pure olfactory bliss, Tina smiled lazily as she took another deep whiff. This was her air.

     

    “Oh, okay.” Bette mumbled. “That’s good right?” She asked a little unsure.

     

    “Very.”

     

    “Great.” Bette smiled, thanking her good fortune. “I’m lucky I smell nice then – at least to you, which is really what’s important anyway.” She lifted Tina’s chin and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. “And for the record, you smell really nice too.” She punctuated her words with another kiss.

     

    “Babe?” Tina mumbled, snuggling closer to Bette – if that was even possible. “Hug me tighter so I can sleep.” She asked in a gentle tone. “Please?” She added in for good measure.

     

    Bette more than happily obliged. “Is this okay?” She wrapped her arms tighter around the blonde and pulled Tina closer to her body till there was literally no space between them.

     

    “More than okay.” Tina sighed, nuzzling the side of Bette’s neck and placing tiny kisses on it. “Goodnight babe.” She ran her fingers through Bette’s dark brown tresses and pulled her in for a sweet and meaningful goodnight kiss. “I love you.” She said in a hushed tone.

    8. You’re back!! Great chapter as usual… Dana, I think, won’t be hurting Alice any time soon. But she and Tina still have some making up to do. Maybe a helpful push, even from Porter? And I’m glad Melvin’s coming around. He obviously loves his daughter, but it’s good that his stubbornness is gone so he can see that. And B&T are still just the cutest!
