Lenox Hill Hospital
Tina thought ”if it’s more than forty days no more…but we’ll try”.
Tina followed the two women to the room on the left, entering last, waiting to see the pain, the suffering, something she had always been used to when it came to patients with difficult pathologies, Tina knew that feeling well.
But Peggy was right, that woman could conquer and have whoever she wanted given her charm, her light, despite the tubes and hospital sheets.
”Good morning Elizabeth…” Peggy said with an enthusiastic and kind tone, her smile sweet and sincere now ”This is Dr. Tina Kennard, neurosurgeon par excellence, as well as a friend of Helena since college…Stanford, of course” Peggy basked in her and Bette gave her a smile that Tina thought could die at any moment but then when the brunette turned her eyes on her and met hers then Tina knew she was done for.
”Nice to meet you Tina, call me Bette please, only Peggy still calls me by my first name” she laughed ironically, her hand outstretched towards the blonde, the hospital bracelet paired with a delicate Cartier.
Tina smiled, blushing, she felt it, ”it will be done Bette” she managed to say to the woman smiling as if she had entered an amusement park.
Helena lifted Bette’s sweatshirt, she wasn’t wearing a coat like the rest of the patients, it looked like long-term hospitalization clothing, like when cancer patients were hospitalized for months for treatment and had their own clothes, Bette was wearing a light-colored tracksuit with a black jacket and a simple t-shirt, bare feet.
”How are the arrhythmias?” Helena asked Bette in a low voice
”under control, every two days, light” Helena nodded
Tina lingered on the mass of curls that Bette possessed, a mane yes, like a wild lioness, long, thick, the color of dark chocolate. Her heart tightened, how could it be that a woman who seemed so strong was locked in that room?
Glued to a hospital bed.
The thoughts in Tina’s mind fell like fruit from a tree as she noticed Bette playfully getting checked out by her doctor or friend, Helena knew Bette very well, she could see it through Peggy.
”So Tina is here because you think she had a solution, right?” Bette asked as she put her sweatshirt back on, looking at Tina from the bed with a sweet look.

Thanks for the chapter.
I am confused as to why Tina decided to leave Toronto. She broke up with Arizona or Her company did not like the fact that she had a child, or because Helena wanted her to work at a really great hospital.?
Is it normal for medical personal to have several drinks and then go to work at their normal shift? A Neonatal surgeon?
I agree with Tina. There is no reason for a Neurosurgeon to be consulted on Bette’s case which is cardiac problems. The person who should be consulted is Bette. What are her expectations for her own medical care.
Hopefully, some of these questions will be answered in future chapters.
Hi, about Tina and the fact that she left Toronto you will find out soon.
For Alice and her drinking at the bar I mentioned that they were toasting, but I didn’t really focus on what Alice was drinking, maybe a Coke?
For the consultation, now it will become more of a relationship between Bette and Tina so yes, Tina from now on will be interested in Bette under the guise of being a doctor, but in reality it is much more than work for her.
” ”To Tina!” the women shouted, raising the tequila shots and throwing them down their throats in the blink of an eye.”
You mention tequila and shots several places and specifically in reference to Alice. Then Alice leaves to go work. Not someone I would want on my medical team. She definitely was drinking and then going off to perform medical care.
And what exactly is “Helena Rise”?
Thanks for your response….

Loved it, great idea for a story. To bad Bette’s sick but I’m sure Tina will find a cure.
