“You don’t have to be in charge all the time Bette,” Tina said quietly. “When you’re in a relationship, you face things together.”
Bette reached forward and brought Tina closer. They embraced while Bette buried her head in Tina’s hair.
“I didn’t realize what I had until I thought I lost you forever,” Tina said.
Bette’s silence was as loud as anything Tina had ever heard.
“So, it’s obviously taking some time for you to let yourself have feelings for me again,” Tina said.
Bette nodded. Tina only felt the movement of her head against her shoulder.
“Do you just want to go to bed? To sleep?” Tina asked. Maybe they were rushing things too much. Bette was under a lot of pressure with school and work, not to mention parenting responsibilities.
Bette pulled her head back and Tina immediately saw the creased brow and incredulous look.
“You’re joking, right? Sex is a brilliant stress reliever. And you have some promises to fulfil,” Bette said. “I’m not ready to talk about feelings yet, but I’m completely ready for sex.”
“God I love you,” Tina said as she laughed at Bette’s summary. She hugged her tightly and then leaned back to look at her. “Maybe if we had focused less on the perfect emotional occasion for sex when we were together, we wouldn’t have ended up in such a mess.”
“As long as we learn from our mistakes,” Bette said with a grin. She glanced over Tina’s shoulder. “That bed isn’t going to mess itself up.”
Tina reached to continue with what she had started, pushing Bette’s jeans down over her hips, letting her step out of them and kick them to the wall.
Tina backed up and sat on the edge of the bed.
“Come here…”
Bette did as she was asked to do, and stood in front of Tina, naked but for the delicate chain she wore around her neck. Tina leaned in and circled Bette’s navel with her tongue, as her hand ran up Bette’s inner thigh. Tina continued to caress her gently, already mindful of the effect it was having on her own state of arousal.
“Your wanting something more physical and less emotional isn’t going to stop me from making love to you,” Tina said as she continued to lick Bette’s firm stomach, meandering lower with each contact. She knew she had Bette at a point where there wouldn’t be any argument.

I certainly remember this story and I love it more now. Thanks for updating the language so the profane language is present. It’s not that I am a complete potty mouth but let’s be realistic. Several of the stories that have transferred over have blanks or asterisks instead of the actual language. In my opinion, when this happens, the stories lose some of their authenticity and the characters lose their edge. I realize that it takes effort to fill in the blanks especially in longer stories. So thanks for doing that.
I find stories harder to read with the asterisks inserted…it’s like a jolt of reality interfering with my escapism. I had to get to the task of editing them out. I do plan to work on more stories; some easier than others because of where the files are. This story was first posted almost 10 (!) years ago, so the digital file was more challenging to retrieve. I’m not much for cursing, but the occasional well placed F-bomb can really get someone’s attention.
@JKS I can’t believe this story is almost 10 years old! It reads now as fresh as it did then. I really love your stories because they are so well written with realism, humor, sarcasm and authenticity. It also helps that for us ORs (Original Readers), it follows canon for the characters and storylines. :-)
