    Lightning Crashes – Part 1 ( #TLW10 )

Carmen ”I’m going over to Jenny and Shane’s…I don’t know if Shane’s there.  But I hope Jenny is.”

Lara ”Carmen…take it easy.  It could just nothing…or just fale rep-”

Carmen ”There were eyewitnesses, Lara!  People seeing something crash into the ocean!  …I gotta go.  I’m going over there.  You do what you gotta do.”

Carmen hangs up.  Lara looks at her cellphone.  She thinks back to her conversation with Alice.  Her emotions are suddenly mixed, but strong all the same.  She checks to make sure she has her keys and then exits her apartment.
The afternoon fades into evening as Shane wakes up on the couch.  She does not know how she wound up there in the living room.  She sees Cherie staring at the television in horror.  She sees a photo of Helena on the monitor.  She sees words on a scroll at the bottom.  She sees Helena’s name in the chyron.  None of it is registering anything more than confusion as Cherie turns to see Shane now awake.  Shane sees the look on Cherie’s face.  Something has gone wrong.

    Timberland Motel.

Bette has finally stopped for the evening.  She is too exhausted.  She has received another message from Joyce.  Just as the previous one she listened to, it sounded vague, but urgent.  ”I’m afraid something has happened and I need to hear back from you, please,” did not make any sense to her.  Perhaps in the morning it will.  Bette has no interest in the television or any form of entertainment for the evening.  She is only interested in sleep, both for herself and for Angelica.

    Jenny’s.

Lara arrives there first and waits on the front porch.  Next door, she sees police officers arriving at Bette and Tina’s next door.

    Helena’s.

Whit is the Peabody Family lawyer.  His job today was to deal with selling off Peabody-Shaolin Studios and also making talking with the landlord about the house and the finding of a new tenant.  It was to be his job to inform Helena of this news in the wake of her being cut off from Peggy financially.  Now he can only stand there in this big, empty house.  A house with a peculiar box in the living room.  He knows what has happened to the Peabody private jet.
