    Slow build

     

    She walked down campus and arrived at the coffee bar just before 10:55. She got a seat that overlooked the pool and bought some fruit juice. She took out her newspaper and read the sports section to make her look less desperate which was what she was feeling.

    It was scary that after a month in England she should know so much and have a view on Liverpool’s striker crisis and whether United would beat City in the Manchester derby. She spotted a piece on baseball which made her feel homesick as she read it.

    “Hi “

    Bette stood up to greet Tina

     

    “Hey there “

    Tina swallowed. Bette was wearing black cords and a collarless white shirt. The whiteness of the shirt showed off her light brown skin to perfection. She wore a simple gold St Christopher round her neck which rested at the very top of the dip between her breasts.

    Bette smiled at Tina who was wearing black jeans and a grey polo shirt that showed off her curves to perfection.

    “I’ll just get myself something – want another juice ? “

    “Yes please “

    “No problem “

    Tina’s idea of a mid morning snack turned out to be a half a baguette filled with salad and chicken and a pot of tea. Bette raised her eyebrows at it

    “I am the worst cook ever and I just love sandwiches “

    Bette wanted to offer to cook for her but she knew that she could not make the invitation and it not sound like she was repeating the moves Helena had put on Tina. Plus there was the small matter that Helena didn’t know that Bette knew Tina.

    “How has your morning been ? “ Bette asked

    “Been good “ Tina said “ Stayed awake in my lecture and didn’t make a fool of myself in my seminar “

     

    Bette laughed “I know what you mean – – how’s the calf by the way ? “

    “It was fine this morning – must be your healing hands “

    Bette smiled “ I doubt it “

     

    “It flares up now and again – usually when I don’t warm up properly “

    “So do you swim or play squash ?”

So Tina is gonna be the one singing? Well, that sounds great too! I love how they are so confortable with each other, this is so meant to be! Of course, I’m biaised. But I think that one of your great talents, Ally, is that your stories always manage to unfold a B/T relationship that is totally meant to be! Please, please post again this week end! Thanks a million… Oh, I still love your description of campus life BTW, so many memories… I LOVE ENGLAND!!!

I just love it and love how you have written our B&T—the innocence, the naivety, the way they each want the other but are afraid to do anything about it. You are such an amazing author my friend and I can never get enough of your stories.

    24. “It crossed Tina for half a nano second to tell her but that would have Bette running faster than during any beeper test. ” LOL (fyi for non-UK: a beeper test = pacer test, or shuttle run. Very fast, like a sprinting test.)

    27. Oh boy, a date! Bette and Tina are just too cute in this wonderful story. If only one of them knew what the other was thinking their little romance could move along. But such is a relationship, they take time to grow. Thanks for the saturday post; how about a sunday follow up?
