Love in Control – Chapter X – Millenial’s Kiss (Part Two)

Meanwhile, Rian was deciding how and when to intervene in the crowd that was beginning to choke around Jia again when she noticed their stud friend back away from the scene slowly, looking as rocked as if she’d been the one who’d taken a spill, attempting to reach behind her neck for the sunglasses she’d hung on the neckband of her fencing-style Dior jacket.

She was about to call out to Tiler when, from afar she heard Tina ask Rachel, “What happened here?”

Rachel had apparently gone to get some water and was returning with a cup on hand, with Tina hustling over to join her.

Bette wasn’t far behind, half-jogging over, tugging Angie and TJ along. Lea was bringing up the rear.

    “Rian, Rian!”

Rian was about to step closer to the crowd but half-turned in the direction Bette was calling out to her from. She waved at Bette.

“Somebody get hurt? We saw people rush over …” the brunette asked as she drew closer.

As Rian started to explain, Angie and TJ broke away from Bette and ran towards Tiler, who was now more than thirty feet away, continuing to walk away from the crowd. The kids quickly got to the young stud, and wrapped themselves around Tiler’s legs when they got to her, each demanding Tiler’s attention.

As Rian resumed talking, she and Bette could hear Rachel in the background. “Jia, would you like some water?” Rachel asked as she got to within a few feet of the crowd, starting to break through the circle that had formed around the seated figure.

Rian paused again and shot Bette a quick smile. “Bette, I really should check how she’s doing.” She paused as she and Bette both looked over quickly to the scene around Jia. “I’ve experienced going through similar things before,” Rian continued. “And it’s not fun. I’ll explain later. Let me break this group up, first. I know how overwhelming this type of attention can get to be …”

Bette returned the half-smile as Rian turned away quickly, firmly wading into the group gathered around Jia seconds later. Bette could overhear Rian’s commanding voice “… and let’s try give her some room, please.”

Tina walked over to Bette, who continued to look on with a thoughtful expression on her face.

    1. What a nice surprise!

I missed this story and it has been a while but I truly enjoyed reading this chapter.

I look forward to the next update!

      Thank you for coming back!

    2. Happy New Year, Sky. What a great surprise to brighten a rainy day! Since the site has been slow lately, I was rereading your earlier posts. Thanks for posting.

    3. Hello! Happy New Year, too! It’s the year of the Rooster, and I’m told that it’s a year for love, but one shouldn’t be embarking on risky or new things (in love or with other things). It seems that this year, the advice is to stick to the tried-and-true. I dunno: sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Anyway, by any measure, this will be an extraordinary year; it already has been full of surprises. Risky and new are kinda “baked-in” already. But there’s always room for love, right? Especially if the alternative is …. no love. Now, that’s just a sad world. Who wants to live in a sad world, huh? I have a feeling I’ll be writing more. If only to re-produce the moments of love this year that I’ll want to hang on to for just a bit longer. Be well, ladies!
