Love in Control – Chapter X – Millenial’s Kiss (Part Two)
Lea’s eyebrows were scrunched together as she consulted her smartphone, in the meantime. “No way,” she muttered under her breath, as she suddenly look up from the phone, and stared at the seated Jia, who now had less people crowded around her.
“Bette?” Lea asked under her breath as she looked at her phone again.
“Mmhmm?”
Lea was taking a longer look at the seated Jia, who was now sipping the water Rachel had handed her. “I … I think … she’s the one we’re supposed to meet.”
“Get out!” Bette exclaimed, eyes wide open, mouth half-open.
“No, not kidding. Here, look at the picture in the email I just got … “ Lea tilted her phone towards Bette. “That’s her, right?”
“Y-yeah…you’re right!”
Bette looked more closely at the picture, and then squinted as she glanced up from the phone, as if this would help her decide whether or not Jia was really the person in the picture.
“But the email says we’re meeting a “Jordan Mia Hall,” the one whose grandparent has given responsibility to for the family foundation, right?” she asked, hesitatingly.
Lea nodded her head as she continued to scan the rest of the email. “Yeah. I wasn’t told about that decision when I’d met her grandparents, who are friends of Peter’s parents. This must have been a recent decision, as I’d mentioned to you when we met up in the lobby back there.”
“Well, I’m not sure what just happened here. But do you think we should have that meeting now?”
Lea shrugged, mouthing, “Your call.”
“Hmm… Let’s see, her nickname must be Jia, then, because that’s the name Rian used just now to …” Bette was responding when Tina cut in.
“TJ! TJ!” her blonde wife called out urgently, trying to catch their little son’s attention. Bette turned in the direction Tina was pointing at, and saw that TJ was pulling on Tiler’s jacket, yanking on it, even as Angie was excitedly telling Tiler a story, likely about something the little girl had seen earlier in the museum. But TJ was having none of that, continued to yank on Tiler’s slick jacket, and growing more insistent on turning her spotlight on him, now.
Bette made to move in that direction, but Tina waved her off. “You go ahead with Lea and talk to this Jia that you seem to be scheduled to meet,” nodding her head in Jia’s direction. “I’ll see about the kids.”

What a nice surprise!
I missed this story and it has been a while but I truly enjoyed reading this chapter.
I look forward to the next update!
Thank you for coming back!
Happy New Year, Sky. What a great surprise to brighten a rainy day! Since the site has been slow lately, I was rereading your earlier posts. Thanks for posting.
Hello! Happy New Year, too! It’s the year of the Rooster, and I’m told that it’s a year for love, but one shouldn’t be embarking on risky or new things (in love or with other things). It seems that this year, the advice is to stick to the tried-and-true. I dunno: sometimes that works. Sometimes it doesn’t. Anyway, by any measure, this will be an extraordinary year; it already has been full of surprises. Risky and new are kinda “baked-in” already. But there’s always room for love, right? Especially if the alternative is …. no love. Now, that’s just a sad world. Who wants to live in a sad world, huh? I have a feeling I’ll be writing more. If only to re-produce the moments of love this year that I’ll want to hang on to for just a bit longer. Be well, ladies!
