Jia looked at Tiler, hip cocked sexily to one side, arms akimbo, hair flopped over her brow, under which a pair of dark blue eyes were staring at her intently, those naturally red lips parted slightly in wonder. Jia felt something tighten and coil inside she stared at that sexiness, laser-focused on her, crushingly handsome in the semi-darkness. Damn, she was so sexy. What the hell was she doing to me?
Can I do this?
Hell, yeah.
You’re just too good to be true, Jia sang, as she stepped away from the side of the DJ and started to walk towards Tiler. I can’t take my eyes off you.
She paused in front of Tiler and swayed, just out of arm’s length. You’d be like heaven to touch … Oh, I wanna hold you so much…At long last love has arrived…And I thank God I’m alive…You’re just too good to be true…Can’t take my eyes off of you!
Trumpets blared again, and Janet joined in the singing, standing in front of the DJ. Aerin signaled to the other two that Janet would sing the chorus solo, even as the three continued to lead the crowd in clapping and dancing along. I love you baby, And if it’s quite all right I need you baby … To warm the lonely nights… I love you baby … Now trust in me when I say …
Cris hollered out, “Anytime, Janet! Just say the word!”
General laughter followed as Janet motioned to Jules to join her. They joined hands and then both sang, swaying in place, Oh pretty baby…Don’t bring me down I pray… Oh pretty baby…Now that I’ve found you stay…And let me love you, baby … Let me love you!
A lengthy sequence with just the sweet strains of the violins filled the air, accompanied by the rhythm guitar. “Let’s swing!” the DJ encouraged the crowd, who began dancing in earnest, humming along.
Tiler stepped away from Bette and Tina, and wrapped her arms around Jia, staring intently at her. As Bette and Tina and the rest of the crowd reveled in the upbeat tempo of the song, swinging freely now, Tiler and Jia stayed virtually motionless, barely moving side to side, staring at each other. Jia opened her mouth to say something but Tiler gently laid a finger on her lips.

If only I had friends like Jia’s along the way to serenade a love interest, I wouldn’t have such a long list of “should’ves.’ Well done.

You took me down memory lane. My “Posse” and I would meet up at a all girls club in the “valley” then travel down to “Studio City” to a “high end” ,male dance club before we ended up in West Hollywood before it was known as “We Ho.” All in search of the “hottest” DJ’s “spinning” the best “mix” of the night. Mind you “mix” was the term used way before “Playlist.” Hottest sounds equals finding attractive babes to impress with our attire and dance moves. It never gets old does it? Thanks for the trip, I needed the vacation from the world. Please keep distracting me!
