    Love Revisited – Coming Home Part 13

    Previously

    They both showered and dressed and were exiting the bedroom to head down to The Planet. Tina walked out ahead of her.

    As Bette reached the doorway she turned around and looked back at the bed. She could see the shape of that headstone with its carved words as testament to that night 6 months agoexcept now it was beginning to crumble, granite becoming dust, those words disappearing into nothingness until all that remained was the dust that rises from crushed rock.

    A soft and gentle voice floated in the air towards her: Welcome back home, Bette. Welcome Home

    They got in Bettes car and headed towards The Planet.

    Are you nervous, Babe?

    Maybe just a little, T. I really disappointed our friends. I know they still love me and care about me, but I think theyre afraid Ive lost a part of who I am. I guess I have. I need them to see it was the part that wasnt really who I am anyhow.

    Theyre great people. Were both very fortunate to have them in our lives – even as crazy as they can be sometimes. They love us both and our breakup shook their foundation. Things like that dont happen to couples like us – at least thats how they felt. Plus they didnt want to take sides.

    Well, in the beginning that wasnt very difficult for them to do. I was always the sanctimonious one when it came to the speeches about monogamy. Then I fell on my own petard and blew myself to smithereens.

    Ha, dont be using metaphors like that with Alice. Shell be julienne slicing your petard and shoving it down your throat. They both laughed. Yeah, Alice would definitely do that.

    They pulled up about a half block from The Planet. Bette pulled her Saab into a spot. Got out and went around to help Tina out of the car. Youll be all right walking this short distance, T, and me coming in five or so minutes after you? I think this will be more of a surprise if I come in after and then come over and plant a big wet one you.

    1. I have read the story every chapter of the way but refrained from commenting..for no damn reason really..LOL But i just gotta say it today..a jackie chang action flick got NOTHING on your story…*haha* Those girls could be power rangers of a very hot sort ;-)
