    Drama takes a holiday. Bette & Tina make love under the stars and you’re invited…

     

    “Umm, I think, Angelica, I may be looking at dessert.”  

     

    Tina brought out their salads.

     

    “Come on, sit, babe.”

     

    “This is wonderful, T.  Something special happening for this midweek romantic interlude?”

     

    “Just us, baby, that’s all.  And I know how stressful it gets for you the closer it gets to the opening of a show.”

     

    Of course, just mentioning the show opening hit the nagging anxiety nail on the head.   Bette put her fork down.

     

    Tina waited. 

     

    “T, I’m scared.”

     

    “Of what, babe?”

     

    “The show, the opening.youyou being there and rememberingme losing you”

     

    Tina got up and walked to over to Bette.  She lifted Bette’s chin so her eyes met her own.

     

    “Bette, that was then. I’ve forgiven you.  And I hope you’ve forgiven me for shutting you out.   You and I are not the same Bette & Tina we were then. We’ve both changed and grown.   No, it hasn’t been easy but only the worthwhile things are difficult to achieve and worthy of the fight.  After all we’ve been through, all the tears we’ve shed, how much we hurt one another by our actions and inactions, and to arrive at the place we’re at now, how unfair of me would it be to now bring that past into everything we do, every art show opening you have, every spat we have?”

     

    “It’s a building, baby, that’s all it is.  Yes, something unpleasant happened there.  Something unpleasant happened in our bedroom, too, that night.  But we got passed that.  We took away the horrific by bringing back us, putting the singular, wonderful love of us in its place.  Every unpleasant and hurtful thing that happened has in its own inexplicable way brought us back home again and made us stronger.”

     

    “Do you not feel that way, Bette?  Do you not think we’ve become stronger and learned from the mistakes we made?”

     

    “Of course, I do, T.  And I told you, I will spend the rest of my life making up for my mistake.  It’s just that every once in a while something will happen, like this show opening, or Helena giving me the hairy eye and I feel like, *****, there’s a remindera flash of memory to my stupidity and thoughtlessness.”

      What a chapter!

      All of the love and lust languishing on the screen.

      Bette’s acceptance that she had to open up and let Tina in shows just how much these characters have moved on together.

      Then the hotness that was astounding. My screen is still steamed up after that sexy, sensuous and sizzling scene. Bette and Tina united in the most primal and powerful passion moved my world too.

      Thank you for this wondrous diversion from all the devious developments.
