    Chapter 10

     

    My heart stopped beating–I couldn’t let it show

    You were as unexpected as roses in the snow

    Just like that I knew you were the one

    Now all that’s left is loving you forever
     


    “T, I’m a little nervous,” Bette admitted. Her heart was beating hard against her chest. She felt the carotid artery on her neck begin to throb.


    In this world we’re lucky if we find
    A spark that sparks one time
    Like when we are together

     

    “Don’t be. I’m here for you…whenever you need me; I’ll be here by your side.” Tina undid the tie to her robe and let the ties fall to the side.

     

    Bette’s eyes traveled from Tina’s face, to her neck, to the swells of the breast, down to her stomach and finally to the triangle area. She missed making love to this woman. She felt like she was in the desert and Tina was a mirage. She raised her hands and slowly slipped the robe off Tina’s shoulders. Her finger traced the curve of Tina’s breast. She watched as the dusty rose nipple grew taut.

     

    Tina closed her eyes and let the robe fall to the floor. She swayed back and forth for a few seconds as she savored the feel of Bette’s hands on her body. Her body responded to the touch. Her heart quickened and blood rushed down to her center. She reached out and placed her hands on Bette’s shoulders to steady herself.


    And in that moment, it happened so fast
    My prayers were answered–I found love at last
    Take my hand–our life has begun
    And all that’s left is loving you forever

     

    Tina leaned forward again and hungrily took Bette’s mouth in hers. Their tongues danced the dance it knew so well. She took Bette’s hand and guided it to her center. “Touch me here,” she murmured against Bette’s mouth.


    Here we are–the hardest part is done
    And all that’s left is loving you forever

     

    The two women reconnected that late afternoon like it was the first time they ever made love. Tina was careful with Bette’s leg, but Bette made no complaints about her leg. All she cared about was pleasing Tina. They explored and touched each other everywhere. Words of love and promises were exchanged and each woman vowed to fulfill them.
