    Alice and Shane commiserate, Bette and Tina plan to get away, Dana manages to keep Al and Shane out of trouble, and Helena and Lara enjoy some downtime. (Oh, and can you say Danish interruptus?)

    “Thanks Kit.” Dana got out of the car. “It’s probably better if I go in alone so they don’t think we’re ganging up on them.”

    “I don’t care what drunken Baby Girls think,” huffed Kit.

    “Yeah, but I’m going to try to get them out of there and keep it low key,” explained Dana, “so better not to put any ideas in their head.”

    “Alright, I’ll go in through the back door. But those girls better kiss your ass tomorrow for keeping them out of trouble.”

    “Fucking nothing ever stays the fucking same,” muttered Shane. “Why the fuck is that?”

    “The god damned circle of life, that’s what it is,” answered Alice. “You better learn that right now or I’m taking your fucking Yoda card back.”

    “What the hell are you talking about?” Shane couldn’t quite focus on Al.

    “Don’t you get it Shane? You can’t count on anything.” Alice’s speech was more slurred than Shane’s. “I mean you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and then BOOM! All your plans are for shit.”

    “That’s just it,” Shane said. “Everyone is making plans, buying houses and careers and all that. I can’t keep track.”

    “Wah. Wah. Wah.” Alice was less than sympathetic.

    Shane rolled her eyes and had to steady herself. Dana had heard enough. She took the tray of coffees from Ingrid and sat at the table, making a hole among the empty glasses for three cups.

    “I see I’m missing a good time,” she said lightly. “Drink up so we can get out of here.”

    “Dana! Baby, I don’t wanna leave,” Alice said firmly. “Do you Yoda?”

    “I’m grilling, remember?” Dana hoped changing the subject would do the trick.

    “Oh, yeah,” Alice sat up. Sort of. “I ordered cake for us, didn’t I?”

    “What?” Shane was still trying to figure out how Dana got there.

    “We’ll get it on the way out,” cajoled Dana. “Steaks are waiting. You hungry Shane?”

    “I could eat,” she started looking for her keys.

    I’m driving,” Dana said, slightly surprised by how well her plan worked.

    Bette and Tina were each lost in a copy of the papers for the sale of the house. They were reading them for the third time since Bette had picked up the message from Regine.

    14. LMFAO great chapter, it took me two days to read it I’ve been in and out so much but I’ve got to say amazing. LOOOOOOVE drunk Alice, and Dana was spot on perfect and even though I am nothing like Dana I felt strangely connected to her actions lol. Another perfect chapter, I can’t wait to see what Alice does next she might be fighting a lovely hangover though. Perfect BMB Absolutely Perfect!!!!! Post Soon.
