MET Obsession
Tina knew she wanted to have children and to experience motherhood. David had told her that he was looking forward to starting a family. She desired that traditional life. Being part of a family and raising children. She really liked David. He had become one of her best friends and trusted confidents.
Comparing her feelings to David and the mysterious brunette, Tina had to admit to herself that she had never experienced that intense of a visceral attraction to anyone before. They hadn’t spoken. She didn’t even know her name. Despite this, the unknown woman had pervaded and dominated her dreams. Thoughts of the brunette regularly frequented her waking hours but she hadn’t confided this to anyone. She didn’t think any of her friends would understand something that was so confusing to her.
“Why am I so completely captivated by a woman?” Tina thought.
“So what do you think of the blackened cod?” David asked.
“Did he ask about the Cod?” Tina thought.
“The cod? Oh yes it’s delicious. Everything has been wonderful David. Thank you.” Tina replied.
“I’ve been a million miles away this entire evening.” Tina thought. She hadn’t really been engaged by anything David had said and knew it was because of her mystery woman.
This was her first time dining at Domodomo. David was well versed in the cultural and culinary offerings in Greenwich Village and had selected the restaurant. Tina genuinely enjoyed exploring the establishments located along the narrow tree lined streets and loved the brown stone architecture. David was successful, handsome, intelligent, kind and generous to a fault. The perfect guy.
“What is wrong with me? I’ve got to let this thing go!” Tina thought.
“Are you still interested in catching some jazz at Mezzrow?” David said.
“Yes, I’d love it.” Tina replied. She enjoyed jazz and knew the music would allow her to keep the conversation to a minimum. She needed that tonight.
Chapter Three: The Gift
Bette Porter took her time browsing through the shelves at Seidenberg Antiques. She was on a mission to find a unique gift for her sister Kit. Bette didn’t think she could voice the words to Kit of how important it was that she had begun to include her in her life again. She wanted Kit to have a special memento of this visit. To know Bette respected and loved her.

Kat, welcome aboard. Nice to see you spreading your writing wings here. Very sweet short story. I’m with Bette, a public restroom is not the ideal place for a first kiss, but what a kiss it was. I hope you write more stories and share them with us. Keep on writing, you have a talent.
p.s., glad you took the advice (yes, that was me).
Thanks Cella. I appreciate the advice and was pleasantly surprised to find your response here. I am exploring all of the tips you listed elsewhere.
I just started the writing thing and am looking forward to creating more tales.
Hi! Story looking interesting.
I understand it’s a single part tale, but maybe you’ll want to continue?
Hi Zhenya,
I will definitely consider expanding the story. To be honest, I have not plotted out the rest of the story. I will need to put on my thinking cap before I post additional chapters of this story.
Hi Kat, welcome aboard!
It was a short story but very well written and i hope for more.
Sincerly bibi28
Thanks Bibi28.
Hi, Welcome Aboard,
I think this has the makings of a longer story.
Enjoyed reading it and your characters are well written.
Thank you, hope to read more.

Thank you SassyGran. I’m glad you found the characters and story entertaining.
Hello Kat and Welcometo the site. Enjoyed your story, certainly hope you expand this story, please keep Tina from bolting from Bette and Kit. She needs to stay and talk to them maybe in Kit’s dressing room or someplace other than the bathroom. Very interesting story. Please continue. Thanks for posting.
I agree, these girls need to get the heck out of that restroom.
There is the David setup an interview factor. So we should learn more about Kits past and her estrangement from her father. Many possibilities need to be explored and plotted for TiBette too before the next installment.
Thank you letting me know you enjoyed the story.
Great story and I want to read more. Maybe Bette invites Tina to her apartment for a stir fry dinner??
Hmm…I think you may have tapped into something. LOL.
Great and PLEEEEEZE do not let Candace anywhere near the museum!!!!!
This was a refreshing one off, haven’t seen this in a long while so good job!
Thank you CestMoi.
