Things were different now. They had jobs and friends and the real world to deal with. They had been plucked from their happy bubble and thrown into a position where both of them had to struggle so hard just to make it through the day leaving no time for each other.

Bette began to tear up a little as she thought about everything that her and Tina had been through together so far. She knew that she loved Tina very much, more than she had ever loved anyone before and she knew that Tina was the person she wanted to grow old with and make memories with. Her and Tina had once joked that if they got to be eighty and had to be put into nursing homes that they would still be sharing a room and a bed because their love would never grow old. Or would it?

A single tear ran down Bettes cheek and all her frustration about her life and her job and her not being able to be what Tina deserved came flooding out. She sniffed quietly to herself as she stood up to get a tissue and calm down.

Bette froze at the sound of Tinas soft barely awake voice. She turned slowly and gave Tina a hopeful smile as she went back to sit down in front of Tina who reached out and played with her fingers.

You just get home babe?

Tina yawned and her eyes fluttered shut for a moment causing Bette to smile. When Tina had to fight to stay awake she was so cute and right now was one of those times. Bette reached out and caressed the side of Tinas face.

Shh nothing babygo back to sleep

Tina just mumbled something incoherent as she moved around a little to get comfortable and before long she was fast asleep again. Bette just placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before getting up to go shower and get ready for bed. Although she hadnt had the talk she wanted to with Tina at least she knew they were on the road to being okay which for her, was enough at the moment. Maybe they would get to talk tomorrow. Maybe they could find a solution to their seemingly ongoing problems. Maybe they would get their happy ending.
