New York Minute – chapter 47

“Its going to be okay – whatever it takes Tina – we will get through this together and I will take care of you and Angie and she is not going to hurt you again “

As Bette was holding onto Tina she glanced up to see Angie standing watching them

    “Hey Angie “

Tina looked up at her daughter “Hey darling “

    “I am hungry “

Bette stroked Tina’s face “Would you like something ?”

    “No “

    “Coffee ?”

    “Yeah “

“Come here honey “ Bette spoke to her daughter who came across – she still looked shaken by the experience of seeing her mother so upset. “Would you hug mommy for me while I make us some lunch – I want you to take good care of her “

    “Yes momma “

Bette left Tina and Angie together while she went into the kitchen. Alone she sunk to her knees and tried to take in what she had just heard. It was unbelievable that Tina had kept this secret for so long. When had this happened ? Bette was trying to work out time lines. They had met 13 years ago – almost 14 and she knew that Tina had lived in LA for about 3-4 years. So how old had she been when she had fled Carolina because of the shame of being the girl whose father had killed her boyfriend?

She must have barely been 21-22. That was the most enormous burden to carry around with her for this many years. Bette didn’t feel angry that Tina hadn’t told her- she did feel sad that Tina had carried the pain around with her for so long. Had that tension and weight somehow affected how hard it had been for Tina to get pregnant – all the false alarms and the miscarriage. Bette wondered how significant Tina’s shame was in the problems they had faced. Bette straightened herself up after a few minutes and started making Angie a sandwich and brewing some coffee for her and Tina.

When she went back into the living room Angie was channel hoping with Tina just standing looking out of the window. Bette put food in front of her daughter

    1. My gosh that was totally unexpected. Bette needs to make sure that Louise will and can not have access to their personal info at the school so that she nor anyone else can find their home. They, on the other hand need to know everything they can about her. What’s the possibility that Louise already knows about them. OMG, has helena had a hand in this? It reeks of her and her machinations. Oh God, I hope not. Fascinating chapter. You are the supreme Drama Queen. Thanks for posting. You would be a fantastic mystery writer, ala Agatha Christie. Love the stories she wrote.

    2. Con’t-history told and then let her crawl back under her rock and have Tina, Bette and Angie get on with their life. I wonder though if Helena did this too.

    3. A small light at the end of the tunnel I guess! Having your other stories as indicator, I believe that we didn’t finish with the shocking revelations at this one, are we? Thanks for the post Ally. I hope you can save everything for the old hard drive. Hey kitty, be nice to the person who feeds you please. We want her in a good mood! Kisses

    4. Okay that makes sense – are we waiting for the father now to stop by? One never knows with your amazing ability to twist and turn what seemed quite straightforward. Looking forward to your next post.

    5. I’m still shockes at what happened to Tina but I’m quite liking the change in dynamics a little lol. Bette is in shock but at least she’s giving Tina the space she needs as well as consoling her. Was a really deep chapter, but much needed. Pps

    6. You still have the magic touch! Their lives were too idyllic. Need a little drama. MOre L Wing, please. I need to read about Tina groveling especially after she was the cause of Bette’s former lover being killed.
