Bette crouched down
“Yes honey “
“This is great – I love New York “
“I am glad about that honey because New York loves you “
“Can we have a hot dog on the way home ?”
“I don’t see why not “
“Bette “
“Yes “
“Are those women not cold ?”
The barely clad and rather pneumatically chested women were passing by them
“I am sure they are “
Bette stood up and looked at Tina
“I love that little girl so much “ she said
“How do you feel about her mommy ?” Tina asked grinning
“There is no question – I have only ever loved one woman in my life and that is you Ti “

Tina opened her eyes and stretched her body as she slowly started to wake up. Since she had arrived in New York she was sleeping better. Part of it was the amount of fresh air and exercise they were all getting as they explored the city. The day before they had been in the Park almost all day having a great time. It had been cold but before they had went to the park they had gone shopping for sweaters and jackets.
Tina reflected that Angie could surprise her regardless of how well she knew her daughter. Far from hating the cold weather Angie was loving it – well wrapped up in her new sweater, gloves and hat she thought it was great when it rained. Tina was a Carolina girl who had lived in LA for a long time – the cold was more of a shock to her system than it was to her 4 year old daughter.
Still despite the cold Tina was having a wonderful time – being with Bette was a dream for her. It was fantastic to look across a room and have that beaming smile bestowed on you. Tina got up, grabbed Bette’s spare robe and went in search of her daughter and former lover. Tina had started to sleep late – something she felt was good for her. Every day since they arrived Bette and Angie had been up before her – Tina liked that. It was good that they were getting to know each other. She walked through to the sitting room. Angie was sitting at Bette’s desk with Bette kneeling down – they were both laughing at the screen. Tina moved closer. They were playing some game that involved large colourful boxes that had faces. Angie moved the mouse, clicked it and several exploded.

I look for this story every day. I love that the 2 of them are being so open with each other about their feelings and hopes. Thanks for the update and please keep them coming! :)

I’m surprised though that Bette has not yet found the guts to ask Tina about the man she’s been seeing ( at least, if we are to trust Helena’s words at the beginning of this story ). I mean, I guess she probably feels she has no right to ask her that, but at the same time, I feel like qhe must be dying to know what has actually happened and if Tina got back to men at some point that must say something, right ? Something that these two will need to discuss at one point or another. And somehow I feel like this would be the perfect time for Tina to open up to Bette about that… At any rate, this was a great chapter, Ally, and you got me totally enthralled with this story…. As usual !
I read this story the first time out and still look forward to your updates and am just as captivated by it.
