Tina raised an eyebrow “ Much later “ Bette said. Tina smiled – that sounded promising. She walked across – Angie was hugging it – it was obviously a huge hit.
“Don’t you have something to say to Bette “ Tina reminded her
“Oh yeah “ she handed the bear to Tina who took time to admire it – it was a good quality toy. Angie went across, Bette bent down
“Its fantastic – thank you Bette “
“My pleasure sweetheart – I want you to have nice things “
“He’s cool “
Bette hugged Angie who kissed her “I know that you have been poorly “
“I am better now – we went shopping today and we saw all the lights and mommy says we can go and see Santa soon “
“We wanted to wait and take along “ Tina explained. Bette smiled at Tina – she was so grateful at how much Tina was involving her in everything that they did. It was wonderful to see things afresh as Angie did. Bette lifted Angie up and walked across
“Are you feeling better now ?”
“Yes”
“And you honey ?”
“I’m lots better “
Bette sat down on the sofa and Angie crawled across so she could get to her teddy bear. Tina handed it to her.
“You hungry ?”
“Starving “ Bette admitted “I haven’t had anything since breakfast “
“Did you not eat on the plane ?”
“I drank a lot of coffee and sent lots of emails “
“We’ve just eaten – what can I make you ?”
“Its okay – I’ll get something later – I want to be with you both “
Angie sat on Bette’s knees hugging her teddy bear – Bette kissed her
“So – I want to know everything that I have missed while I have been away “
“I’ll go and fix you something to eat – I don’t like it when you don’t eat “
“Yes mom “ Bette said grinning at Tina. It was a real thrill to have a partner who cared about her and worried that she wasn’t eating properly. Tina smiled – she still couldn’t get enough of seeing Bette and Angie so obviously devoted to one another. Tina shook her head and headed into the kitchen so she could find something decent for Bette to eat.
