Tina was in the sitting room trying to write a covering letter for a job she was applying for with a film company based in New York. Angie was tucked up in her own bed because it was after 8pm. Bette had gone to the gym in the building and still wasn’t back. Tina was feeling much better. She picked the phone up and dialled LA
“Hello “
“Shane – its Tina “
“Tina – hello – how are you – you said you were in bed with a cold and Angie was sick too”
“We have both been ill but Nurse Bette has been caring for us – how are you ?”
“Fine – I was just thinking about the two of you when I was watching the news and they said there is a snow storm coming down from the Arctic and going to dump several inches of snow on New York and all those east coast places “
“Well I wouldn’t be surprised – it is cold here “
“How snug are you in your luxury apartment ?”
“Bette keeps turning the heating up thinking that we LA girls cannot deal with the cold “
“Well you can’t “
“I can’t – Angie however loves the bad weather and I am sure she will love the snow. We have bough her the Wellingtons and the warm clothes – she looks very cute “
“How’s Nurse Bette ?”
“She’s having some doubts about whether she is Angie’s mom and how she will match up as a mom. I nodded off earlier and when I woke up they were watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks – you seen it ?”
“Its Jenny’s favourite kids movie – she talks about it a lot “
“Well there’s a scene at the end – Nazis and broomsticks and magic “
“You thought it wasn’t suitable for her ?”
“I just think she can handle animation better than what looks like real life. She hasn’t grasped that in movies we have special effects – she knows that animation isn’t real and that’s fine – the other concept is a little beyond her at the moment”
