Tina struggled to keep her anger and disappointment in check as she stepped through the door and into the bedroom. Once there she studied the naked brunette perched leisurely on the bed, oblivious to her surrounds and completely at peace as she devoured a treasured book. If it had been any other day she would have hesitated to interrupt her partner’s solitary zen practice but having just discovered she was deceived she wasn’t in a particularly solicitous mood. “What is this?” she demanded.

The startled brunette glanced up and squinted at the creased document being held up for her observation. “I can’t see very well from here but it looks like a letter to me” she said.

Confused and a little unsettled by the typically calm blonde’s sudden spurt of hostility, she served up her best smile hoping to mitigate whatever was brewing. The day was too young for her to have yarned the privilege of an angry Tina. She tried to recall if she’d written an offending letter to her lover in her sleep, she couldn’t.

    “It isn’t a letter”

“Well what is it?” the brunette leaned forward hoping to get a better glimpse of the mysterious document that was about to put an end to her tranquil morning plans.

I’ll tell you what it is, it’s the end of their relationship that’s what!

Tina has found empirical evidence of what I’ve always suspected. For a moment there I was worried Tina would forever be victim to this woman’s special blend of trickery but now i’m pleased that won’t be so. Her long awaited disillusionment has arrived and today Tina is finally going to end her relationship with that dreadful woman. Some might say it’s too early to call but I know better than some, better than most actually.

Today’s it. And it may very well be the happiest day of my life.

What you need to know is that this woman isn’t right for my Tina. I want Tina to skip right through the preamble and just toss her out on her faithless ass.

From the moment I met her I knew she wasn’t the one for my sweet darling Tina. She walked over to me, ran her intruding hand over the trimming on my waist and walked away without a word. I felt objectified. She’s never acknowledged my presence or influence since. No more.

    1. Wow, i am curious about this story.

It is the lamp who dislike Bette? And hoping that their relationship will end?

Again, this update makes me curious and I really want to know what’s the letter about .

    2. Ally, just dropped a long PM note to you about narrators and hope I didn’t overstep, but narrators are our windows after all and who is talking to us and drawing us into the tale. I shared some specific stylistic thoughts on that. Now that I’ve read you intend to use different objects of Bette and Tina’s as your narrators thus developing the narrative style of switching POVs makes it doubly important for you to clarify to the reader who is guiding us. We’ll get lost and miss the information your narrators are revealing.

John Irving and Kurt Vonnegut both wrote fiction that had objects as narrators. Some of the objects had great personalities and were reliable narrators whereas other objects were pissy and petulant and when they came into the scene it was always testy and amusing. I take it this magical lamp is very possessive of one of our favorite characters, Tina. One unreliable narrator is fine in the company of multiple narrators. Their voices I look forward to watching you create. This series will be amusing to read because throughout your stories we’ll come to like one narrator’s view of Tina and Bette over the others and so forth.

Thank you for coming up with something so quirky and interesting. I rather wish I’d thought it up myself! As you know I’m deep in the sands of Malibu at the moment with the beginning of Season 7.

      Do please continue this mischief!

      All for now!
