“ATF? As in Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives? Oh my God, this is not happening, this is not happening…” Alice began chanting, pulling her own hair and rocking back and forth in the chair.
“Alice, I believe you’re panicking,” Shane said, putting her hand on Alice’s shoulder to calm her down.
“Why don’t you announce it to the media…” Alice answered grudgingly, “Bette, we need to do something. Nobody…and I mean, nobody…can find out about the time portal and you.”
“Relax, Alice. We don’t know anything for sure. So what’s the big deal? They are investigating professor Kroll. From what you had told me about him before, he cannot possibly be involved in anything illegal. They will look into his research and end up finding nothing. There’s no reason to panic…yet,” Tina said calmly, trying to sound convincing.
Alice thought for a moment and finally became more relaxed. She was still a little shaken but as Tina pointed out, she was sure that professor wasn’t mixed up with anything criminal.
The rest of the morning was spent in silence. Each woman was contemplating about their lives and about their friends. Alice broke the silence first because it was always impossible for her to stay quiet for too long.
“Carmen, if this Amy person calls, could you please pump her for more information? Go out with her if you have to…” Alice looked at Shane, getting the silent permission from her.
“Okay, Alice. I’ll see what I can do. You guys are my friends and family,” Carmen replied, knowing that Shane wouldn’t mind in the least if it would help Alice or Bette.
Silence was once again restored at the table and Alice was ready to jump out of her skin. She decided to lighten up the mood and asked, smiling at Bette and Tina, “Girls, now that we all know that SheBar can be so much fun how about hitting the club again this Friday? I can ask Lisa to keep Helena and Candy away.”
Lisa was one of the bouncers at SheBar and they used to date a long time ago, so Alice thought that she could easily secure some favors from an ex-girlfriend.

Aaahaaa….another little twist being introduced here. So, the ATF is investigating and now we have to figure out who is the neighbour who keeps reporting something and what are the Krolls doing??? Fantastic update B&TF…evertime the story looks like it’s smooth sailing you introduce something else to keep us guessing…excellent!

Love how Bette and Tina have found their way to each other. The ATF is a little scary.
Cute Tibette here, this is very sweet. Looks like big drama is coming along, but I’ll say it again, B&T can survive anything as long as they are together. Curious about this gov’s investigation though… Nice addition to the story, you genious brain! Thanks and PPS! K ;)
