“Slip out the back, Jack.
Make a new plan, Stan.
You don’t need to be coy, Roy.
Hope on the bus, Gus…”
As they were driving through the back streets to avoid heavy late afternoon traffic, Alice was humming along with the song on the radio and drumming her fingers nervously on the leather seat. Shane, who was riding on the back with her, looked curiously at Alice and gently squeezed her hand. “Alice, it’s going to be okay.”
“Oh, I know. We just need to make a new plan and I have a brilliant-prebrilliant plan. I’m so excited to tell you, guys. Hurry up…are we there yet?”
Tina giggled at Alice’s antics and everyone laughed, some of the tension and anxiety dissipating. Bette squeezed Tina’s hand gently and put it between her thighs. Tina took her eyes of the road for a moment and smiled, “Careful. You know what that can do to me. And I’m driving…”
Bette winked, “I’ll behave…for now,” she glanced behind her to make sure nobody paid them any attention and then whispered, “…but later, all bets are off. As soon as we are alone…”
Tina raised her eyebrows and blushed lightly. “I can’t wait,” she whispered back, putting both hands back on a steering wheel.
Bette felt a familiar tingling all over her body and she squeezed her thighs together, trying to get her mind back on their current situation. As much as she wanted and needed to spend time alone with Tina, she knew there were more important things that they had to address at the present.
Tina looked at her lover thoughtfully. She was bothered by the idea that Bette might be in danger. She would do anything to keep her safe. She put her hand back on Bette’s thigh and rubbed it gently. “I can’t lose you again.”
Bette smiled reassuringly, “You won’t. We’ll get through this…together.”
Alice called Dana back to inform her of the new development so Dana would go straight to Tina’s house and meet them there.
“So, what’s the plan, Alice?” Shane asked as they settled in Tina’s living room.
“Let’s wait for Dana. Everyone needs to know exactly what we’ll be doing and I don’t want to repeat myself twice.”
