“It did lead to some amazing principle/student sex,” Alice chuckled as Bette closed her eyes in disbelief.
“Please tell me I’m going to wake up next to Tina any moment now and this is a bad dream.”
“Oh she’s pitching the ‘it’ couple concept to you,” Shane said with a smirk as she joined the group and sat down. “This I need to hear.”
“So you know what she’s talking about?”
“Not really,” Shane laughed. “But I do know that I need some good Thanksgiving food with the shitty year I’ve had so Alice better come through Tina style.”
“And if Dana and I were the ‘it’ couple we wouldn’t be compared to Tina and we’d be able to make our own versions of a traditional Thanksgiving meal.”
“You make whatever traditions you want, Al,” Bette stood as she checked her watch once more. “When Tina comes home tonight I will gently but gladly let her know that you’re going to take the reigns this year for the meal.”
“I’ll walk out with you, Bette,” Shane said as she turned back toward Alice with one last warning. “I was dead serious about the meal. Tina cooks for me once a year, Al, once a flippin’ year and it’s the best meal of that year. Please don’t make me hurt you or have to sneak into Bette and Tina’s house for my one decent meal before New Years.”
Alice triumphantly looked at Dana who looked rather scared. She placed her glasses down on the table in front of her, confidently folding her arms over her chest. Alice took a moment to relish in her victory and then abruptly sat straight, slamming her hands on the table, toppling the coffee cups on the table.
“Damn it, Dana! To the grocery store!!!”

The days leading up to Thanksgiving were like no other for Bette and Tina. They had gone out to eat both Tuesday and Wednesday with an overabundance of time and funds given they were neither buying nor making Thanksgiving dinner. Tina had to admit that her curiosity was getting the better of her; she had texted Alice three times on Wednesday trying to determine if Thanksgiving would be a traditional Thanksgiving or one involving take-out Chinese.

Classic Gumby…clever, fun, witty! Alice is hysterical! Love it Gumby…thanks! For the past 10 years, we go to my sister’s sister-in-law’s…TERRIBLE cook. We don’t have the heart to tell her…so we eat Chinese BEFORE going over to her house. LOL

I like the version of your story with all the girls alive and well and funny as hell. So Tina was very crafty with her Thanksgiving Dinner and Bette knew this but let Alice act of though she was doing them favor by taken over the meal, and then her and Dan end up making out instead of preparing the meal. I wish I had a little more of Angie in the story though.
I know several butternut squash recipes but that Aunt Jamima substitute had rolling that was a great laugh thanks G

I thought it was weird that Lenore had her own recipes. And Tina outed as a poseur, LOL. Although I do think that the show’s Tina actually made her own pies, etc.
