    Peculiar Hesitation – Chapter 8

Dana awoke and stretched her arm, noticing that the bed was empty except for her. There was a note on the pillow. Dana picked it up and turned it over in her hands several times before finally deciding that she had to read it. All that was written was Sorry in big black letters. Dana sighed and threw the note on the floor. She put some clothes on and headed to the Planet.

Jenny sat at a table writing in her journal. She pointed to the seat across from her with her pen without looking up. Dana joined her, Hi.

What happened? Jenny asked, concern laced into her words and written on her face.

Oh, this? Dana pointed to her face, Nothing. Had a badaccident. Flew right in my facedangeroustennisballstennis balls.

“You have tissues, she pointed to her nose, in your nose.

Danas face reddened as she excused herself for a couple of minutes to refresh herself, Uh, have you seen anyone?

Shane just left and no one else has shown up. Jenny rummaged through her purse and pulled out a pair of sunglasses. She held them out for Dana to take.

Dana gratefully took the sunglasses, Thanks. I guess I timed it good then. What are you writing?

Its just a story about a bride.

I dont know if your stories are personal or whatever. Someday if its okmaybe Ill get to read it.

You want to read my story? Dana nodded. Ok, Jenny handed her journal to Dana. Its not finished. Its a short story though.

~[Jenny’s story] She ran, possessed through the wet sand. Somewhere between the altar and the beach she became united. Not with the groom, her love, her life, but with a demon. A demon with the power to change her. There was no turning back even as the groomsman yelled after her. She felt the pain of a thousand knives twisting and turning in her flesh, tearing it apart. The sticky red hotness poured out of her heart. The only way to stop the pounding in her head and this slow death was to reach the water.
