Peculiar Hesitation – Chapter 8
She struggled to keep moving as the water quickly rose up the length of her body. Her muscles strained to propel herself deeper as the trail of her dress floated to the surface. Her body sank further and further. She inhaled, the taste of salt thick in her mouth, filling her lungs. She breathed it in, welcoming the intoxication.
Pulled from the water, the poison pushed out of her body. She choked, unable to breathe, clutching to the life in front of her. [End of Jenny’s story.]~
Dana put the journal down slowly when she finished. She looked at Jenny, tears welling in her eyes, Is this based on a true story?
Jenny nodded reluctantly.
And the bride is Alice? She did that?
I shouldnt have shownyou that. It was very surreal watching her. Everything was slow. Very slow. Like one of those slow motion scenes from a movie.
Jenny. I did this. Dana rose from her seat. I did this.
*****
Alice plopped down on the seat across from Jenny, Hey, I got here as fast as I could. Whats so important that you couldnt tell me over the phone?
Jenny grew uncomfortable, Dana was here.
So?
She knows.
Those two words made Alices jaw drop, Oh *****. You told her? Jenny! *****!
She asked to read it. Alice, she was going to find out sooner or later.
Alright, Im gonna go home and talk to her. Alice arrived at the apartment and opened the door, Dane, Im home. Dane. Dana! She went to the bedroom, everything was clean. The bed was made. She relaxed a little. She opened the closet to get a sweater and it was half empty. She checked the drawers Dana used and everything was gone. Alice picked up the racket that was on the floor and twirled it in her hands.
*****
Alice would never have thought that Dana leaving now was going to be even more painful, but it was. Dana had come back, but she left for good this time. She refused to cry or maybe she just couldnt. She cried enough the last few weeks to last the rest of her lifetime. She had a sudden desire to get out of the apartment. She had laid around doing nothing but watching tv and working and now she wanted to change her mood. She went to the radio station knowing she wasnt scheduled to work. She hoped that maybe her coworkers would be able to cheer her up.

I love Dana, but it’s sad that she does this kind of things and not be able to learn from her mistakes. But I’m really enjoying your story :D
