“Hey.” I say approaching Shane as her back is turned away from me and she is looking out over the ocean.

She turns. “Bette.”

“Listen, I’m sorry if I came off as rude when you spoke to me last night.”

“Are you kidding me? You’re apologizing?” Shane says looking at me. “I’m the one here for the apology. I feel like trash, like I’ve betrayed you more than anything.”

I couldn’t seem to find the ones to respond to Shane so I let her continue.

“I never meant for anything to happen between me and Rachel. You’re my best friend. I was completely fucked on drugs and I was not thinking. I was being the asshole who just let herself go and decided to shut off my brain. I don’t want this to ruin us, Bette.”

“This isn’t going to ruin us.” I respond. “I know you’re sorry.” I pause. “And I also know that Rachel likes you.”

“Look, if you don’t ever want me seeing her again, I’ll do just that. I promise you.”

“No, I don’t want that.” I pause before continuing. “I was never truly in love with her because my heart belongs to Tina. I made my mistake by cheating on her and I don’t want to ruin her happiness if she likes you.”

“So you don’t hate me? Because I’d understand one hundred percent if you did.”

“No, I don’t hate you.”

“Bette, you have no idea how terrible I felt. I never even got any sleep last night.”

“If you like Rachel, maybe you should talk to her. I want you to be happy and I want her to be happy.”

Shane steps towards me and we hug.

“I finally have my family back.” I say sitting across from Kit at the planet.

“I’m happy for you baby sis, and I’m proud of you for not holding a grudge towards Shane and Rachel.”

“They’ve really hit it off, haven’t they?” I say to Kit before turning my view to the side as I see them cuddle close at a table. “I wanted nothing more but to be with Tina and have my family back.”

“Mama B!” My head turns towards the door and I see Tina and Angelica entering behind Cole who is running towards me.

“Hey my man!” I lift him into my arms and give him a kiss on the cheek. “Hey my two beautiful girls.”

Tina leans towards me for a kiss on the lips.

“Ew, gross mom.” Angelica says before planting her eyes into her phone.

Tina looks at me and we both roll our eyes.

I pull out Tina’s chair and I sit next to her.

“Guys how about you come with me and I’ll make you some sandwiches?” Kit says looking between Cole and Angelica.

I watch the kids leave the table and I’m left alone with Tina.

“I’m so happy to be here with you right now, I’m so happy to be a family again.”

“I feel the same way, Bette.”

We lean into each other and kiss passionately.
