    Real Tibette – Thanksgiving 2023

    ‘I’m sure it’s fine, Tee.’

‘I know, but it sits in that cupboard for a whole year.’ She made an ‘ew’ face. Bette just smiled. If Tina wanted the reassurance that the holiday dinner service was spotless, then so be it. Then, as she dried her hands, Tina said, ‘Oh, and I found my grandmother’s turkey jug, by the way.’

Bette was putting the cups in the cupboard. ‘Oh?’

‘Yeah. It was inside a cool box behind a sleeping bag on the camping shelf instead of on the shelf with the other Thanksgiving things.’

    ‘Hmm. Well, well.’

‘Yeah. It was tucked away, all right . . .’ She gave Bette a flick on the ass with the tea towel. Bette spun round. ‘But I found it,’ Tina said.

Then she gave her wife a double-eyed wink and walked away, swinging her hips, to go back to bed.

An hour or so later, the same kitchen that had been a tranquil cocoon was now more like the main hall at Grand Central. Kit was making waffles (and singing), Sonny was making oatmeal, Sasha was drumming on a peanut butter jar (also singing), Ben was barechested, ironing a polo shirt for school, Bette was making espresso, Tina was checking Sasha’s homework – and Shane was trying to say goodbye.

‘Uh . . . bye, guys,’ she said, waving from the doorway.

    Everyone ignored her.

    ‘Guys?’

Still nothing. Then Solly barked. Loudly. Several heads turned to look at him, but he was staring at Shane.

‘Thanks, Sol,’ she said, with a little grin. ‘Guys, I gotta go. Jo’s outside.’

‘Outside?’ said Tina. ‘What’s she doing outside? Bring her in!’

‘Can’t, she’s double-parked. But look, have a great time, okay?’

‘I’ll miss you!’ said Sasha, throwing her arms around her aunt.

    ‘Me too, peanut,’ said Shane.

And then she was swamped with hugs and kisses and well wishes for her trip to Florida, to meet Jo’s family.

‘They’re gonna love you, babygirl,’ said Kit.

    ‘I hope so,’ said Shane.

‘Remember to say please and thank you,’ said Ben, slipping his shirt on while it was still hot. ‘Parents love that sh . . . stuff.’

‘Just be yourself,’ said Bette, eyeing her son. ‘Normally I think that’s facile, but with you it’ll work.’

Yes, I’m enjoying the family growing up – working out what the kids are into and how having Alice in NY affects things. There’s a lot of moving parts. Thanks for taking the time to read it and comment. Means a lot.
        Take care

    4. Largo,
I correct the previous comment . . . DISagree that U have been “arrogant” by calling this masterpiece as “REAL”. Pfff! It certainly I S that!!!

Authors on this site have enraptured us with exquisite insight in filling gaps that were not revealed in TLW nor GenQ.

    5. This was so needed, missed & delicious to deavour.

Excellent writing as per your usual postings.

Tibette has so perfectly fit themselves into each other & draw such strength from one another.

And Angie, trying her hardest to find the right fit & balance in her life & love. Hopefully we’ll get to read in the not to distant future who she meets & really falls in love with.

Overall, a gem & this will join all your other endeavours as my all, time favorites.

Thanks for making our holidays a bit more grateful & joyful.

      All my best.

          • Thank you for your lovely comments. It means so much to me that you enjoy this Tibette world. I like writing them as a solid team in, as you say, a big messy family, just filled with love and support. Everything we never, ever, saw on the show.
            Thanks, friends
