    “What would that have to do with Bette?” “It was something that happened a long time ago. I never told Bette about it.” “What happened?” “I was at the Planet with Helena one night when Bette was there with Leigh and another woman. They were sitting at Kit’s VIP table for the Susan Alegrato concert.”

    “I was at the Planet with Helena one night when Bette was there with Leigh and another woman. They were sitting at Kit’s VIP table for the Susan Alegrato concert.”

    Bette recalled the night very well. It was the first time she’d met Leigh and asked her out, but she had a girlfriend at the time. Tina continued talking, but addressed Bette instead of Emma.

    “I was watching you as numerous women came up to you and hit on you. You were sending them away and one would just be replaced by another. I didn’t know I was pregnant at the time and we weren’t on speaking terms but I was so jealous watching you. You looked so beautiful; so desirable and as I watched these women I realized what I’d given up. I think the term that I heard that night was ‘meat tagged’ and you were a choice cut of ‘filet-mignon’.

    I don’t care for that analogy but needless to say I realized that night that I’d given up the best thing in my life but I couldn’t admit it to you then. I watched as you interacted with Leigh and the other woman and you were laughing and joking and seemed to be having a really good time. You looked like you’d moved on.

    It was a couple weeks later when I found out that I was pregnant and I called you. I didn’t know what your relationship with Leigh and the other woman was at the time but that wasn’t what bothered me. I met Leigh again when I was several months pregnant. I was still sleeping with Helena but I had started to detach from her emotionally; all we had was a physical relationship. That was towards the end of my pregnancy when you and I started getting closer.

    Anyway Helena and I were not exclusive and when I moved away from her and closer to you she started dating other women. She was pursuing Leigh. I saw them together a few times having lunch or dinner at the Planet.

    3. Great chapter. That session was a great idea and so happy that they are really taking steps to talk about things that bother them and receiving a professional or objective opinion. Of course, keeping these sessions confidntial and away from family and friends, especially Alice should keep them balanced and on the straight and narrow. Really enjoying this story.
