    S. O. (Esss Ohhh)

    Yo turn, sugar!

Quick comeback. “You deny checking me out?”

“No … and, news flash – you didn’t seem to mind, earlier. So why the burn now? Do you have an SO who’ll come after me for doing so?”

Aaannnd, boom! If that Lena chick is anywhere near this picture, Jay will have to drop that right about…. now.

Loooong pause. Too long, for Tina’s taste. She opened her mouth to take things down a notch, but:

    “No … um…at least, I don’t … um…or … not in the …”

Hazel eyes turned speculative, and brown eyes caught the shift. No, no, don’t ask!

“You seem unsure. So, is there an SO around or not?”

    She had to ask.

“Esss. Ohhhh.” Tina pressed, with a twinkle in those hazel eyes. “That means …”

Bette pouted. “I know what SO means, silly.”

Tina stepped closer, and bent forward to whisper, “Just teasing.” She took in a whiff of Jay’s scent, apparently daubed at a pulse point behind an ear. Clean, shower-fresh, unexpectedly both woodsy and citrusy, top notes of bergamot and mint, mixed with some musk, oud, and rose. I caught some of it earlier when we were out on the deck, but couldn’t remember where I smelt it before. Same as the one a girlfriend in college used all the time?

She was stepping back but Bette whispered something also. “Did you like what you saw when you checked me out?”

Tina paused, uncertain about what Jay meant. Is she honestly curious about what I thought, and if so, what would she do with my answer?

She completed her step back, but found they were standing closer to each other than earlier.

“Why do you want to know?” Tina asked, hazel eyes no longer teasing.

Bette took a deep breath in.

What should I do with this? For some reason, Tina chose to reach out to me, and share what had to be a pivotal moment in her life with me. When she held my hand, it felt like … like nothing I’ve ever felt before. There was something in her eyes, also. Especially when she looked me up and down so slowly, like she was touching me every place her eyes roamed. And there was this … hunger in those eyes. Like a lover’s, who couldn’t wait to ravish me.

    1. Thanks for the chapter!
Great to see new part of the story.

And Tina – this is Bette! You just need to jump on her and Oh wait, you just almost did it:)

    2. Just had to say that I was so happy to see a new chapter to this story! Love your attention to detail and YES to more teasing from those two.

      Thanks for posting!

    3. So great to have a new chapter, thanks ever so much. Always wonderful to read about their love blossoming, and right now it is on a rampage. Yay!!!!! Tina will get all her stuff together, take care of her children and tell henry to go straight to hades and beyond. He is too much of a d–k to tell her he wants out, just not much of a man, his mother had already told her so. Tina should have listened to her and run like hell. I think he has already found someone to keep him warm at night, whether it is Stockholm or New York. Good riddance to him, he’s not worth piss. She needs Bette in her life for a love that is total and complete and when the children are there they will look like a truly complete family. Can hardly wait for all this to unfold. Thanks again for posting.

      • Speaking of Stockholm, for some reason, I thought you’d appreciate the following one liner from Ken Dodd (RIP):
“Just read a book about Stockholm Syndrome. It started off badly, but by the end I really liked it…”

        Side-splitting ????

Not picking on Swedish friends and readers out there, of course.

Thanks for commenting. Now let me get a pot for H to p*ss in, bec that’s all he deserves, right?

    4. Welcome back skydancer!

I missed you and your story!

They met and bonded immediatley, there was a instant connection.

Henry is a asshole and it wouldn’t surprise me if he is cheating around Tina’s back. Dump him and start a family with Bette.

It is clear that Lena is history as possible lover, but i do hope she will continue to be a friend for Bette.

Fantastic update, please don’t let us wait too long for the next chapter!

      • I hadn’t and i doubt about possibility of this.

That’s why i always be sceptical about IC version friendship between Bette and Alice in TLW and that Alice truly cared about B&T relationship.

    5. Hi Z, yes, it has been a long time. I’ve had the next few chapters in draft, but haven’t had time to finish them. Meanwhile, a few things happened IRL, so life sucked for a while, and I wasn’t writing anything. Then a new story wormed its way into my head, in a way I couldn’t ignore so I’ve been writing that one out. May post that sooner than the next chapter for this one, and I hope you’ll like it.

Take good care, in the meantime!

    6. Oh no, it’s been 3 1/2 years since the last entry. Please don’t tell me that COVID-19 impacted your writing.

I love this new/different story line!! When TJ arrives the intersection with Bette (Jay) will just add more and more to the story.

And, don’t forget the LA airport lounge conversation that Bette heard period to her departure. Another line of this great story!

      Please write/publish more, PLEASE!
