    I take a moment to assess the situation. I think back to make sure I haven’t said anything that would have caused this appearance of extreme nervousness that has taken over her body. She is squirming in her seat and biting her nails. I can see the small beads of sweat beginning to glisten on

    I take a moment to assess the situation. I think back to make sure I haven’t said anything that would have caused this appearance of extreme nervousness that has taken over her body. She is squirming in her seat and biting her nails. I can see the small beads of sweat beginning to glisten on her forehead. Her eyes are shifting throughout the room at an alarming rate and her breathing has quickened. I look around the room in an attempt to follow her gaze. I see the clock, 11:23pm. What the fuck? It’s 11:23pm and she’s still here! She hasn’t made any attempts to leave. What is happening? I start to get nervous myself. I’m afraid to ask her what’s wrong. From the look on her face, it must be something bad. Oh God, please tell me she’s not about to break up with me! Shit! SHIT!

    Ok, just calm down Bette. Breathe… It’s Tina. Just talk to her. It’s going to be ok. Just talk. Be vulnerable for once. Be brave. Come on, you are Bette Fucking Porter for Christ’s sake! Suck it up!

    I take her hand in mine and look deep into those gorgeous hazel orbs and give her my best smile that is only ever for her. “T, what’s wrong? Did something happen? It’s obvious that something is bothering you and I know that whatever it is, we can work it out. Just tell me what I did or said and we can fix it, together.”

    She stops fidgeting and takes a deep cleansing breath and sets her gaze to mine. What she does next, well, that’s where the overload begins my friend…
