LA – Summer 2002
At The Planet – Two weeks before the bachelorette party
Kit was standing behind the counter, quietly staring across the room, as she was very deep in her thoughts. Alice approached her, as every other morning, in the search of much needed caffeine to start her day.
”Hey Kit… what’s up?” Alice greeted her in her usual cheerful mode.
Kit looked at Alice as if she was not understanding what was being said to her, or even recognizing who Alice was for that matter.
”Wow… what the hell happened to you?” Alice asked, shocked at Kit’s reaction.
”Why would you… what… did someone call you?” Was Kit’s first attempt at a reply and Alice was even more confused at that point.
”Kit… what the fuck?” The perky blonde asked with a questioning face.
Kit’s whole demeanour was screaming guilty of something and usually that was a big, monumental mistake to make for anyone who happened to be around Alice.
”Ok… spill the beans Porter…” Alice demanded.
”Spill what?” Kit tried her best to sound as innocent as possible, but her face was saying otherwise. And even if it didn’t, there was no way a person could get away with whatever was in their mind once Alice was convinced someone was hiding something.
”Come on Kit… out with it… and while you are at it… could you make a double espresso? Put everything you’ve got in it… I didn’t get much sleep last night” As asleep as the blonde was she could still tell that something was up with the older member of the Porter family.
”Gabby again?” Kit found a getaway route and was trying her best to divert the conversation towards something else, even if that involved talking about Gabby.
”No… and no! You are not getting away with it… what the heck is going on? Why are you looking like you’ve murdered the Pope?” Alice´s patience was reaching its limit.
Kit released a sigh she wasn’t aware she was holding. Telling Alice what she’d done was not gonna help the situation but at least she could get it out of her chest.
”Kit… even my patience has a limit…” Alice was beginning to be restless.

Really like this story. I think the premise of past and present on a collision course is very original. Love Kit‘s confession but find Alice to be incredibly annoying. Why oh why is it her God given right to interfere with everyone’s life? So now we TiBetters have a new nemesis and her name is Julia. Get it together Tina. Great story.
Can I ask a question – if Tina has been an executive producer in the movie industry for 4 years – how old are they in the past? Must be further along in college than freshman for Tina to have had her job for so long – 1996 to 2002. Six years. Four years of college. Maybe I missed this.

Can we plot???
BK says
YES. Need some way to get Bette and Tina out of town together and force a conversation. Away from Julia.

Agree. The car is waiting in the back.

I think we need to find out a little more about the non-relationship of Bette and Tina before we get out the get on the anti-Julia band wagon. Bette and Tina are our chosen couple, But let’s see what she’s all about before we make her walk the plank.
This is actually a very intriguing story. Theses are definitely not the characters presented in TLW. Ready for more…
Oh, and I think Alice is acting just like Alice. Had Kit not looked like she just ran over someone’s dog, Alice would have never asked anything… Kit in her way wanted to tell her so she would have someone to commiserate with. And I think it was what Alice should do was to call her and evidently bring her attention to the reason why Bette is about to be married to Julia. I just wish Kit had had the nerve to talk to Tina instead of telling her the news and then chickening out with the “I’ve made a terrible mistake” crap.
I am liking this story, bunches…
