    She will be loved

“I didn’t know you were expecting someone” Came the voice of her companion for the afternoon.

Tina remained silent as if she was frozen.

After not hearing those familiar steps coming to the door or that familiar voice  shouting to come in from inside Bette got really worried. She was certain Tina  was there, but probably in the company of Brian and she was clearly interrupting them.

Bette started to turn around to come back where she came from, but half way  through she regained her courage. She needed to talk to her friend and to at least offer her a quick apology, so she decided to knock again.

Upon hearing the second knock Tina knew that it surely was important,  otherwise Bette would not knock twice.

“TK… are you not gonna answer that?”

“Yes… Jules… I will” Tina replied with the saddest expression on her face.

    LA – Summer 2002

    At a karaoke bar

Bette remained with her eyes closed, still resting the weight of her drunk body against that sink on both her palms.

“Bette… open your eyes… please?” There was a strong element of fear in Tina’s voice.

Bette did as asked in a very slow motion, and was faced with the sight of the most beautiful woman  she had ever seen reflecting on that rest room’s mirror.

And even though Tina’s face was extremely familiar to the brunette, every single time she laid her eyes on those gorgeous features it seemed to her as if it was the first time, back in that Art Appreciation class room.

Their eyes locked, both their hearts skipped a beat. And both their breathing patterns were very erratic.

A few minutes of complete silence followed, with both of them in the same  position and still staring intensely at each other’s eyes. If eye contact would be  the same as talking, those two were shearing the story of their lives, down to  every specific detail.

It was still unbelievable to them how time could stop in the presence of one another. They hadn’t seen each other in what had felt like a century and yet, they both realized how their world had just stopped spinning and how each other’s hearts were skipping more than one beat. For those two time had certainly frozen.

It was Bette who blinked first for she was sure she wasn’t drunk enough to be hallucinating, and yet again how could that be happening? And most importantly why?

Still uncertain of what to do Tina understood she had to say something, even  though every single part of her body was aching to close the distance between  her and the brunette´s perfect body, and embrace that tall and slim figure that was leaning on the sink. And never let go.

“Bette…” But for some reason Tina was not able to finish a sentence after  pronouncing the name she had repeated so many times before in her dreams.

“What are you doing here T?” Bette asked, suddenly finding her voice.

“I… I came here to talk to you…” Tina did not know where to start for she actually did not remember where they had left off either.

“Talk to me about what?” Bette seemed extremely confused, but then again she knew she was under the effect of strong booze.

About the fact that I love you? About you not making the biggest mistake of your  life by marrying that bitch? About our life together? About the mistakes I’ve made  in the past and how sorry I am for them? Oh Bette… about so many things…

But Tina realized that she needed to keep those thoughts to herself at that particular time, since Bette was in no condition to have a conversation… one that she would remember the next day at least.

    1. Okay… Tina is not an hallucination Bette. Why do you think she would show up at your bachelorette party, unannounced? She has something to say…. time to find out what it is she wants to say. But you need to sober up first…..

Please write and publish as soon as you can….Thank you…

    2. Ugh! Bette is too drunk to really hear Tina right now. Get her out of there ASAP and make a pot of black coffee. Tina do not react to anything Bette may ramble about. Wait it out until she is sober.
