Side Effects Chapter 10 – WHAT ARE THE ODDS…

Bette: “no baby, it wasn’t your fault, they could ask Maura”

Maura: “that’s right…, but I think they were after something else”

Jane: “be clear honey…, they were after Tina”

Bette: “shit…, I’m glad they are out of the scene”

    Tina: “BETTE!!!”

Bette: “I’m sorry…, I don’t like to see other girls running after my fiancé”

The meeting finished and everybody went to do their jobs

Old Westbury, Long Island, Thursday 11:30 a.m.

Sharon has been complaining every day to her husband about Dana’s health; she asked him to bring a psychiatrist or a neurologist to check her daughter’s mental state, because the girl wasn’t able to speak clearly, was crying constantly and claiming strange monosyllables like ‘uh’ all the time, as if she has a pain or something painful inside her, a ‘compulsive repetition of a word’ as one of the nurses described.

Howard Fairbanks was tired of hearing the demands of his wife and decided to look for a specialist in mental health, he won’t ask this time Don Kennard, the last doctor he sent didn’t know what to do and charged him with a big bill; so this time he will ask an old friend, a famous retired physician to recommend someone capable enough to treat her daughter. This morning, again, Sharon came to Howard’s office with the same refrain.

Sharon: “have you find a doctor for Dana?”

Howard Fairbanks: “okay, I’m fed up with your same old story; but I’m going to concede this time, I have a meeting with my friend Niles Crane”

Sharon: “he is a retired psychiatrist; I don’t think he’ll have the patience to treat Dana”

Howard Fairbanks: “I know, but he may recommend me the best for her”

Sharon: “and when are you going to know who is the new doctor?”

Howard Fairbanks: “first, I’ll meet him this afternoon then I’ll be able to answer your question”

That afternoon, after driving one hour east, the chauffeur stopped the car in a private and exclusive golf club; inside Howard went to the restaurant in the main house and made a beeline to a table close to the window where the sound and hear its soft wave could be seen.

Howard Fairbanks: “my friend Niles, how are you”

    1. Hi proteonomics,

Sorry to hear a tragedy hit home. I hope everything is okay now.

I hope to read it this week, maybe wednesday. I have a new job and have late shifts. I will leave another comment then.

      Take care,
      Xxx ????

    2. Hi proteonomics,

As promised i finally had the time to read your update.

I should have remembered that the guys would take the wrong “girlfriend”. But you always give us so much information it slipped my mind, forgive me.

The girls are getting closer to the solution and when they do i hope all those bastards get what they deserve.

I really loved to read how Alice and Dana became a couple, i hope they will be reunited soon.

Bette took a risk to not inform Tina what her plan was but she was forgiven quickly when she told her she picked up the sample. I hope it took.

Thank you for the update, I wish you strenght and lots of love and take care of your self! ????????

    3. Hi Bibi:
