Remembering

That evening Bette received a phone call from her sister Kit, she told her, she will be singing in Boston next Friday and Saturday and she has a ticket for her and Bette told her about Tina, so Kit told her she wants to know her girlfriend and will give her two tickets to bring her to the show. 

The next day in the morning, Bette told Tina about her sister’s show and the tickets, the blonde was excited to meet Kit and attend her concert. Tina also asked Bette to drive her to a beauty parlor.

Bette: “what do you have in mind?”

Tina: “nothing…, I just want to buy something”

Bette: “hmm…, some makeup kit?”

Tina: “no, I already bought one…, I’m not very good at using it, but I’ll ask Carmen to help me”

Bette: “why…? I could help you”

Tina: “ha-ha…; are you serious?”

Bette: “course, I told you, I’ll be always here for you…, but, what are you going to buy there?”

Tina: “a wig…, a red one”

Bette: “what…! Baby, I love your hair”

Tina: “is only for this evening”

Bette: “for the lesbian bar?”

Tina: “yup, Carmen told me that many girls from the university will be there, and I prefer to be disguised”

Bette: “baby, if they see you with me there and later at the university, they will know”

Tina: “but this evening they won’t”

That afternoon Bette went early to Tina’s apartment to help her with her makeup, a habit she’ll preserve even after 12 years. When the time to go out arrived, they left the bedroom showing Tina’s new look.

Jenny: “fuck…, Tina…, is it you?”

Tina: “yes…”

Carmen: “you look different…”

Shane: “uh-huh…, a little bit older…, wow…, if I didn’t have Carmen…”

Carmen: “what???”

Shane: “err…, I’m just complimenting her, baby, you are my girl Car, only you”

Marina: “you look really beautiful Tina…, Bette you must be careful there”

Bette: “course I will”

Tina: “careful? About?”

Bette: “I tell you later”

When they arrived at the place, it was 8:00 pm, Tina realized this was the same lesbian bar where they dropped Shane and Carmen weeks ago; Bette, Tina, Carmen and Shane waited and before getting off the car, Carmen, Shane and Bette look at each other as if they had a secret eye-language, which Tina noticed.
