Side Effects Chapter 9 – FACING EVIL

Bette: “baby, remember, time ago we talked about having a family, and you told me you wanted to carry the first child”
Tina: “yup…, that was always our dream, to raise a family together, to take care of each other and the babies”
Bette: “we can do it now…, we are going to get married and I have Marcus’ sperm in New Haven, what do you think?”
Tina: “now…?”
Bette: “why not…, we are protected and could keep working in the cure of the affected for the drug stolen from you…, we both will feel rewarded knowing we’ll be mothers soon”
Tina knew that wasn’t a very good idea in current days, but it was tempting, having a living thing growing inside her that has the same genes than her beloved, a little Bette or a little boy with Bette features.
Tina: “yes…, why not, after the wedding we can visit the bank and collect the sample…, we don’t have to use it all, just enough for the first baby, and maybe later we could use it again…”
Bette was enthralled; Tina not only accepted but also may want another baby.
Bette: “okay, my love, I promise I’ll be the perfect woman for you, the perfect other mother for our children, I love you very much, Tina”
Yesterday, Sunday Jane agreed to give permission and protection to Bette to leave the safe house, and today, Monday, she is ready to go to Hartford for the ring that is waiting four years to fit in Tina’s finger; she and Tasha will drive to her house in Connecticut and they will come back to the safe house. But Bette secretly has called the sperm bank in New Haven telling them she will collect a sample for one-time use, today around noon; now the only problem is to convince Tasha to drive to New Haven for the sample.
At the door of the safe house, Tina hugs and kisses Bette with frenzy as if this was the last time to do it.
Tina: “baby, please, be careful and come back soon, I already miss you very much”
Bette: “I’ll be back quickly honey, but stay inside; I don’t want anything to happen to you”
Jane: “ahem…, you better get going; we need you to monitor the messages of those criminals”

Hi SG:
I’m sorry, I knew you don’t like cliffhangers, but I left a cryptic message in FB and twitter for those like you who don’t like them, and is also in my author note.
But, anyway, apparently, I will have a little more time next week and I will try to post soon (I hope).
Thanks for reading and commenting.

Hi,
I know I read your notes, didn’t help me to deal with the Cliffhanger :-)
Well a week has passed, is the next post about to appear:-)
Look forward to letting go of this cliff sometime soon!
SG
Be patient, the first word in the next chapter. Almost ready.
P
Oh my God those Cliffhangers again!
You know you have to update this week!
Great story proteonomics!
Hi Bibi:
Thanks for your comment, I’ll try to update soon.
However, the ‘clue’ to solving the cliffhanger, is in those last two chapters. Then you may have an idea of what is coming in the next chapter.
The cliffhanger is the reason why this chapter is a bit longer than the former ones because I wanted to reach this point. Now, I’m feeling a little guilty.
Thank you so much, my friend, for your last words, and I’ll try my best to post soon.
