Alice: I’ve heard you and Bette are heading to the Daily Planet

Tina: Oh come on Al; we’re not that good

Alice: That’s not what the editor and chief thinks; she says you’re the best investigative journalists she’s seen in a long time

Bette: And how do you know what the editor and chief said about us?

Alice: She’s a friend of the family and she owes Tina a favour

Tina: Eh?

Alice: Jodi Lerner

Tina: (Surprised) Jodi Lerner is the editor and chief at The Daily Planet?

Alice: Yep, you saved her ass last time she was in Smallville

Tina: Yeah but…

Bette: You saved her life?

Tina: It was nothing really; she tried a nose dive off Pike Point

Bette: You saved a woman’s life?

Tina: Baby come on it was no biggy

Alice: You seem to make a habit of turning up just at the right moment TK

Tina: I’m no hero, just someone who doesn’t like to see people hurt

Bette: You’re my hero babe

Tina: Thanks honey

Alice: Oh please pass me the bucket

(All three girls laugh. Little did any of them know; Tina was going to be called upon to complete her training earlier now Zod’s and Jax- Ur’s scouts were on Earth. Cut to the Fortress; The console begins pulsating light; the time had come for the Earth’s saviour to begin her training)

Tina: (Hears a high pitch ring) Ahhh!

(Bette and Alice quickly look at Tina. Bette can see Tina is in some distress)

Bette: Tina honey… what is it?

Alice: TK?

(Tina falls off the bed, her hands clutching her ears. It was too soon)

Bette: Tina baby

(Bette quickly slides off the bed and gathers Tina in her arms)

Tina: Ahhh!!!

Bette: Tina it’s okay I’m here

(The ringing stops. Tina relaxes into Bette’s embrace. Her eyes brimming with tears)

Bette: Tee

Tina: I’m fine

Bette: Tina…

Tina: (Hard) I said I’m fine

(Tina stands up supported by Bette. Why now? Why a year early? Why when her life was finally coming together?)

Tina: I need sometime alone

Bette: Tee…

Tina: GET OUT!!!

(Bette and Alice are surprised by Tina’s burst of anger. They decide to leave her to calm down)
