Smallville: The L Word Style Chapter 6

    Bette: I love you

(Tina stands next to her desk silent and deep in thought as Bette and Alice exit the room, closing the door on their way out)

    Tina: Why now? Why now!!!

(Tina sits down and begins to cry. She sits and lets all her grief out before she takes several sheets of paper and begins to write her letters of goodbye.)

(Cut to Shane’s dorm. She and Dana were sitting absorbing the news that one of their friends was an alien from outer space)

Dana: It would explain a lot

Shane: All those times she ran off

    Dana: Yeah

    Shane: She can fly

    Dana: See through solid objects

Shane: Shoot fire from her eyes

    Dana: Hear at a distance

Shane: Bounce bullets off her chest

Dana: And run faster than sound

    Both: Wow

(There is a knock on the door. Shane stands up and answers it to Alice and Bette; both looking shaken)

    Shane: Guys?

    Alice: Can we come in?

    Shane: Sure

(Shane steps aside and lets them in. She could see that something had happened, had Tina told them her secret?)

Dana: Jesus what happened to you two?

Bette: Tina took some sort of fit

    Shane: What?

Alice: It was scary, she just started screaming in pain

Bette: She fell to the floor and after it was over she lost it and told us to leave her in peace

Dana: That doesn’t sound like Tina

Bette: It scared me to see her like that

(Shane could see Bette’s distress and outs an arm around her, drawing her in to an embrace)

Shane: She’ll be fine, you’ll see

(Shane and Dana exchange worried looks. Tina hadn’t told them her secret but something had obviously rattled her)

Bette: I love her so much Shane

    Shane: I know

(Cut back to Tina and Bette’s dorm. Tina had written Alice, Shane and Dana and her parents a quick note explaining that she had to leave but now came the hardest letter of all to write; Bette’s)

Tina’s voice: My love, I know you’ll not understand when I say that me leaving is what is best for both of us. I truly do love you Bette but there are things that you may never know about me and I am scared that they will drive us apart and destroy us completely; I cannot allow that to happen. I know I will see you again but I cannot say when and where but I know we will meet again someday; you are, forever, my soulmate and I will never forget you for as long I live. Goodbye my darling; I will always be with you. Love always Tina

(Tina could not hold back the tears that had threatened during her writing the letter. She removes the ring that had been concealed in the fortress by Jor-El. It was a family heirloom that had been passed down from generation to generation. It was a ring meant for her soulmate.)

Tina’s voice: PS the ring, that I have left with this letter, is meant for my soulmate and the one I am going to spend the rest of my life with. As you are my soulmate it is rightfully yours; wear it close to your heart and know that I will always be there in it.

(Tina wipes her eyes before she encloses both the ring and the letter within an envelope. She carefully writes Bette’s name on the front and leaves them on the desk. She packs her clothes and some of her possessions into her rucksack before looking around the room she had spent so many happy times in with Bette before she takes off into the sky towards the North Pole and her fortress)
